You should be able to find the rules in http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Imperial_Armour_Books/IMPERIAL_ARMOUR_VOLUME_THREE_SECOND_EDITION_-_THE_TAROS_CAMPAIGN.html

But you can also offcourse use the normal IG rules and using stand-in rules for the different vehicles.

Its more than just a few rules, its an entirely different army list. It doesnt use the C:IG at all, it is its own stand alone army list which can have drop sentinels assigned to troop squads, Vulture gunship, special drop heavy weapons and lots of other unique units.

If you are a competitive player, dont bother, its an Imperial Armour list which is notorius for being under powered and difficult to use in a comp environment. But if you are into fluff and social games using scenarios, than it could be well worth looking into.

I dont agree with the above.

Drop sentinels can be deployed as normal sentinels.

Might be that the buggies are the only worry there , allthough you might be able to play them as chimera's or something along those lines.

So using the models and codex IG is perfectly feasible.

Sorry what part dont you agree with? That the book contains more than just a few extra rules or that the Elysian list is under powered?

Well your basicly stating that he shouldn't do elysians to which i disagree : he can do elysians but use C:IG

I havent played with the elysian rules so i cant say if they are underpowered or not, but i guess you can make all army lists work even the leysian one.

Quite the opposite Brother, I am all for him to do Elysians, my post is following two others (one of them yours) which were talking directly about the IA:3 book, I am simply commenting that the book contains more than just 'a few rules' and explained that it contains an entirely different list to the C:IG.

I agree that the majority of the models can indeed be used to form a standard C:IG army and have seen a few but I always feel that if you are going to the trouble of building a FW army using a themed model range, than you will get the most out of it if you then use the accompanying IA army list. Much better to build a pure IA list than to build a GW codex and then cherry pick the IA units into it (can create some pretty OP combos).

My comments about not bothering were in relation to the Imperial Armour list, if he was a competitive player, because the list is not an exceptionally powerful one.

Definitely get the rules set if you are going to use the FW models! They always looked awesome and I would love to start them after my HH army and DKoK.

If you play them, definitely get the tauros vehicles, drop sentinels, and vultures with punisher cannons...too cool to pass up.

Im suprised no one thinks they are overpowered because of the heavy reliance on vendettas and valkyries (arguably the best flyer for points cost in the game)

If you do get them, the rules require you to carry around a boombox at all times and play "Ride of the Valkyries" at full blast and doing quotes from Armageddon Now :D

It's because they can't take any more Vendettas than any other army, and they lose out on the chance to take anything like Leman Russes, Medusas and so forth. Plus, their infantry is more expensive.

Soo you mean to tell me it has weaknesses? Heresy! :P
