Can you imagine if all the legions were fluffy how awesome be.

Tough as nails Iron Hands and Death Guard, World Eaters and Blood Angels tearing everything apart, Iron Warriors tossing pie plates every which way and utterly leveling everything into the ground, fearless Word Bearers, etc.

A thousand word bearers running away from ultras on calth into a corraled orbital bombardment would like to have a word with you :D

fearless indeed, instead of running to engage in hand to hand combat when out of ammo, they ran like little girls

poor wade :(

Hey now, that's my specialty msn-wink.gif

Although to be perfectly fair, the 600-ish Word Bearers were low in morale from being abandoned and defeated and most of them didn't even have ammo. It could very easily be rationalized as a tactical retreat. That ended with a big bang. biggrin.png

It was a French Tactical Advance.

Backwards, like all French tactical advances :P

Completely tried and true strategy

Now as someone building a IH terminator force, the -1 S - does it affect all enemy fire? So a fellblade would be S10 not SD? and plasma would become S6 - I know it will still be AP-whatever, just wondering as making plasma/autocannons S6 and even lascannons S8 (still I'd vs most folks but ohwell) is a rather nice prospect and one that works with my game plan of march forwards blazing gunfire and then slaughter any remainders in combat haha

I can't wait to try it vs a Tau gunline :D plus I want to see the model and rules for Khârn and have hom run around slaughtering things with Gorechild :D

If the World Eaters don't tear apart everything in close combat then it's not that fluffy.

I think it's more of an issue of how to get those World Eaters into CC with numbers to win that combat. Hopefully their RoW will solve this.

The rules at present do a good job of representing the redmist/bloodlust that overcomes the World Eaters, although as I have said, I do think their rules are a little lack-luster compared to other legions. yes.gif

yeah thats why I suggested the old fleet rule: WEs will just run at you to chop you up. Shooting while advancing is not entirely in their MO.

That or be able to bounce off one unit into another after a successful combat but with the disordered charge rule. seems fluffy since it reflects their overkilly tendencies and represents them charging into the melee in a disordered mob.

There are just so many more rules they could've done to make them better. My one and only beef with FW when they gave us this wonderful ruleset.

It's possible they thought that might have overpowered the World Eaters. I mean look at the Night Lords. We get an awesome =1 Wound under certain conditions, a S+1 AP3 Chain-glaive, and we always get a 6+ Cover save in the first turn which can be combined with Stealth and similar effects and is superseded by cover with a higher save. The drawback is that even Sevatar has to fall back +1 more inch(not to mention his Lds 7 when using Precog) and if the Warlord dies, every single unit has to do a Morale check as if they suffered 25% losses. The Night Lords get some serious bonuses, but they also get some serious debuffs.

It's possible that if Forgeworld had given the World Eaters a rule like Fleet, they might have done a debuff that is just as equal in the advantage/disadvantage category.

Of course, what we don't know is exactly how much the Traitor Legions will change as Chaos gets hold of them.

Fleet may well be in the next iteration of the Legion rules, as they head towards becoming the frothing madmen of the 40K universe.

But that is all in the realm of speculation and wish-listing!
