Hail Brothers of the Fang, I come to you seeking modelling aid. As some of you may be aware, Jaspcat is leading 'The Battle for Humanity' over in the HH and WIP forums. I intend on joining in and have settled upon the Duran (maybe Dulan?) conflict of which the story 'The Lion and The Wolf' comes, and the traditional duels that followed. I've decided to arbitrarily split my force in range units, DA, and cc unit, SW. I'm halfway through assembling an 20 man despoiler squad and have decided upon a 10 man Breacher squad next.

On to the modelling, can someone post a pic of a side-by-side of the PA combat shield and the TDA Storm Shield. FW's Breacher Shields are a decent size and I feel as though the PA ones don't quite cut it, but want to be sure of the TDA ones before investing.

I'll be posting a thread here with progress on my Wolves once I get the last of the Despoiler squad assembled, unless you guys don't want to wait?

Cheers,

Jono

Grab a SW TDA box, clip out a Storm Shield, and see what you think.  That, or search fu a web browser for SW TDA Storm Shield or something similar and you should be golden.

If I had $74 to spend, I might do that, but I don't. All I really need to know is, height-wise, how much taller is the shield.

Cheers,

Jono

Well a marine is two inches tall.  A longer style SS stands about neck to knee on a normal marine.  The FW breaching shield covers the entire body pretty much.  I understand being curious before dropping cash, but there are plenty of pics on the net for reference.

If you don't want to spring for the Breacher Squad kit then try out the Boarding weapons set from FW.  It comes with shields and weapons only.  FW also offers a resin iconography set that is fairly simple to cut down and bend to fit those plain flat surfaces.
