+++ Call of Chaos VI +++

After seeing so many inspiring updates on great projects, I became a bit sad that my time for painting is so limited. But finally, I progressed enough for an update of my own.

Here we go:

Bases are almost done. Have to tone them down a bit with some shade.

Flesh and bone on the bodies done. Since the pic was taken, I put some more paint on them (see last pic below), but they are still not finished yet.

Here are the heads. First cut; primed and with some boltgun on them. Like with the bodies, I worked on them some more since the pic was taken (see below).

Also primed the weapons which was extremely tiring work. Really should not have cut the sprue to pieces, but sprayed them in the complete sprue.

On the front of the arms I went back and forth and back again several times. Finally decided to cut away the odd weapon socket on the right arms, to be able to use the one coming out of the back of the hand the way I want (I want the weapon there to point straight ahead, and not kind of sideways). I also used the arms to experiment to find a way to do the flesh. Found a way I liked, but now half of them need a re-do. So, a lot of work is still left in this section.

After taking the pics of the heads and the bodies, I managed to put some more paint on them, and to fit the heads to the bodies with a second cut. Unfortunately, I destroyed one head in the process sad.png Luckily though, it was a zerker head, of which I have some more in stock. So that's the reason why there are only five torsos in the pic.

The heads are not glued yet, but only snap-fitted. I think the gold might need some shade. I also plan to glue the heads together with the completed arms in one go. That way I hope to get better poses, but I don't know if much can be done in that department, as the arms do not offer much flexibility.

Here‘s my second update on ‘Typhus‘ - done the main part of his armour, have basecoated the trim ready to ‘rustify‘ it! Will get stuck in to that after I‘ve finished the two other Marine armies I‘m painting...

Second update on count as Heldrake.

I am really glad that I decided to participate in something like this. This is a great way of keeping yourself motivated and also a fantastic chance to see on one place so much fantastic work, hats off to everyone.

Wow!

That was a very productive weekend! Chaos advances unopposed and the Galaxy will surely burn!

@ Deadman Wade & Tchort: I was wondering where you guys have been... ;) God luck to both!

@ Zyl-: *Beavis & Butthead voice* She's like... ha... nude dude. Ha... haha... ha... haa.... Well done Zyl - your Daemonettes came out consistently well - great overall effect. The almost white/pink shade you chose really adds a eerie, otherworldly quality.

@ Iron skull Mask: 5 or 6 it still qualifies as your second WIP pic! Heads look awesome and certainly help considerably the overall image of the Oblits... Well done! :tu:

@ Firestorm40k: Typhus comes along very nicely indeed! Great choice of parts and sculpting - you're on to a very unique Typhus indeed!

@ nhaunter: Man the freehand is awesome but the pics? You're doing such impressive work, you really need to show it in its full glory...

Updated to this point!

Well, it's not a huge update, but it's an update none the less!  First bit of paint on my cultist squad!

edit: bah, you can barely make out the color...  oh well, you'll see them better in the next step

Zarky update 2: Got the white done(that took forever) and blended the hair from white to pink, not sure if I'm happy with the blend but its the best i could do with such an uneven surface.

*edit Captain, you left the warhound and the other 8man squad of zerks off of the front page. I do intend to get that done.
