Hey Brother.:) Welcome to the BA board.

Technically you should use the BA army list forum but lets see if we can't keep it general enough to escape the wrath of James and Morticon.

How big a tournament?

Which units do you prefer yourself?

In general do you encounter many fliers and have you a bird yourself?

That should give us something to start on. :)

Sounds fun. :) Vindicators are okay. With the re roll from a divination librarian can be great. (Re rolling scatter).

How about infantry and hq. What troops do you prefer?

What type of landraiders?

I'm thinking Vindicators on flanks and 1-3 landraiders in the center with a DC Dreadnought hiding behind, ready to tear.

If you meet any type of eldar with lances you could be in trouble.

AV 14 is immune to plasma shots but vulnerable to melta/lance weapons.

A Librarian moving/running next to the dread could give a 5+ cover save through shield of Sanguinius.

Too bad we can't choose both codex and divination for the same librarian.:)

HQ I have a bike Captain, Dante, Astorath, Termie Captain, 3 Chaplains a Termie Chaplain, and I just acquired the new tact squad kit and want to field it. I also have 25 DC and 20 AS guys for troops. All my raiders are crusaders. What would you suggest I acquire or run HQ and troops wise? Ah I also possess another tactical squad. I have 4 Devastator Squads, 5 Sanguinary Guard, 10 Termies with H/SS, 10 bikes no attack bikes, 4 drop pods, and that's it from the top of my head.

If we decide on a mechanised force then we're looking for models without jumppack.

Any Sanguinary Priest without jumppack? Could be a proxy for Corbulo. :)

2 vindicator

Crusader + DC company

Crusader + assault marines + Corbulo?

Reclusiarch/chaplain.

DC Dreadnought with ? Talons?

It's one suggestion. Keep an eye on this tread and others will add their suggestions. This is a world wide community and I think most are asleep right now.:)

You might browse the army list forum as well.

Also browsing the last two pages of topics. Look for battlereports. Chaplain Admetus has a good one. :)

I would say storm ravens are the bomb but ive played very little in 6th.

I had a 10 man blob of DC with a chaplain of sorts (Astorath before the nerf :( ) and they always wreck face and take a lot of punishment, just find a way to get them in combat. Maybe 9 DC with bolters, a few power weapons, a chappy, and a drop pod absolutely scares the pants off anyone.

Back when I played old Tau, I faced a guy with an all dread BA army which was awesome. He had a bare captain with jet pack in a squad of assault marines, a squad of DC in a rhino, 3 dual auto cannon dreads, 2 death company dreads, and 2 furioso dreads.

I beat him the first match through being a trixy hobbit with my jetpack moves, but the second time he tabled me, and those autocannon dreads are nasty business. If you hide your dreads behind the furiosos and use cover you should be good.

Whats so good about crusaders? I never got that, I always preffered lascannons as the hurricane bolters did little and the assault cannon was decent. I mean you could do a 15 dc squad with a chappy, but its a huge point sink and a fast army like taudar will laugh at you

Straight up AV 13 spam and anything else that is hard to kill. You have some tough units in your arsenal. Here is what I would recommend:

Reclusiarch jump pack

Assault squad dual  melta

Assault squad dual melta

Priest jump pack

Priest terminator armor( soooo gooood)

Hammernators( no claws...also crazyy good)

Furioso with talons( use your DC dread)

Vindicator

Vindicator

What else do you have? This list would still have $110( see what I did there) left in its budget.

I'd comment that BA going long range shooty is a recipe for disaster. Autocannon dreads(riflemen) are for grey Knights. They get +1 strenght on weapon and other buffs.

I took 9 dreads to a tournament 3 years ago. 3 riflemen, 3 DC, 2 librarians and a Furioso. And 2 dakka Baals. I lost 4 of 5 games.

Nowadays av 12 is too weak to rely on. 13+is way better.

Crusaders are pure anti infantry. If you add Multi-melta the machine spirit can hunt armour.

Short range means that it must move. Movement improves the chance of using the assault ramp. Plenty of room for a full squad and 1-3 characters in Termy armour.

ok so here is a list from a few of the idea's you guys have put together unfortunately no fliers.

Reclusiarch

Sang Priest

DC (8)

AM (8)

Landraider crusader

Vindy

Vindy

Predator with Lascannons/lascannon sponsons

DC dred (talons)

DC dred (talons

I think I still have 50 pts left

I'm also not sure if I should use the Priest for the ASM squad giving me 100 extra points for power weapons and plasma or meltas for my infantry

I would drop both DC dreads (you need 2 more DC to be able to field them anyway, its 1 dread per 5 marines) and pick up a second LRC so you'd have two full transports, 2 vindicators, and predator on the field.  It will be light on scoring.  Suggest drop the priest to pick up meltas on your assault marines and maybe a power weapon and melta bomb on the sergeant.  And get the squad to 10 strong so you can combat squad it.

if you have it, you can drop the lascannon turret on the predator back down to an autocannon and use the points to add bodies/upgrades to your DC unit (which I presume runs with the Reclusiarch).

Depending on your meta, it doesn't sound like a bad list.  You would want to make sure you protect your troops though, since it could be really hard to take objectives with 10 marines.
