Interchangeability of FW Tartaros and Cataphractii parts?

Recommended Posts

Are the weapons/hands of the two FW terminators fully or easily compatible?  From the images, it looks like the thunderhammers and mauls are the same thing and the guns are too, save the heavy weapons.

I'm especially interested how much mangling one would have to do to get the Cataphractii lightning claws (awesome) onto a Tartaros arm, since the Tartaros LCs are far less cool.  Wanting to do some very early Flesh Tearers and I think Tartaros suits are far better for them and way less static than Cataphractii.

Or, barring cutting a Cataphractii LC off at the elbow and affixing to a Tartaros arm, could you just put a whole Cataphractii LC arm on a Tartaros torso?

Pics of the pieces in question or any conversions you've done would be greatly appreciated!

Cataphractii arms have the lower part of the shoulder pad moulded on. It won't be impossible for the arms to mix, but it might be a small hassle. Basically, the attachment point of Tartaros arms is much, much smaller in surface area than the attachment point of Cataphractii arms, which the respective torsos are designed for.

I'm fairly certain the hands are fully interchangeable.

For what you seem to be wanting, I recommend the chop-n'-stick that you've described.

Weapons are fully interchangeable. I have Cataphractii armed with Tigrus Combi-Bolters, Power Axes, and Power Swords to add variety. The Storm Shield works as well, but as of yet we have no rules to use them.

Edit: I believe Cataphractii arms can be used on Tartaros, but I can't confirm it. Never tried it myself.

Possible, but plastic terminator arms have even larger points of interface.

They're also much thicker along the length of the arm in general, and the shoulder pads are not interchangable (though if you do it, it's less noticeable with plastic arms on Cataphractii than plastic arms on Tartaros).

Plastic terminator powerfists are also massive.
