Rhino Variants

Were the current 40k rhinos and its variant (except the razorback) around during the heresy?

And is it "taboo" to use them in a heresy force, I'm not much of a treadhead but I'd prefer my troops to be in rhinos rather than footslogging it is all, but I don't want to spend £15 more than is entirely necessary on a vehicle that only gets my troops from A to B. Yes, I know I am quite stingy! But I'd rather spend that extra £15 going towards another unit!

Its not a problem unless you are stringent on the asthetics of your army.

The ones in 40k havent changed much and in the BA codex its said there are 2 or 3 relics from the horus heresy that still function.

Im sure they are called phobos or tigrus pattern but it probably doesn't matter much

The patterns for both the RH1N0 and the Phobos Land Raider existed during the Great Crusade. The "Pre-Heresy" patterns are really just the same thing, only built on a different Forge World. In all honesty, there's probably dozens of different designs for the same exact thing. You see it with Power Armor, TDA, and Weapons as well.

You can always convert the plastic rhino so that it looks like the older style. The best way I have seen to do this was a member called DeSnifter, and can be found here:

I've used it a couple of times, and think it works brilliantly. You can either contact him and ask him for the templates, or PM me and I will send them to you.

Have fun
