Rune Priest Psychic Power's

When determining psychic powers can I choose one from the Space Wolf powers and one from another?

Per the FAQ

Psychic Powers

"A Space Wolves Rune Priest (including Njal Stormcaller) may use the psychic disciplines found in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook, instead of those in Codex: Space Wolves. If he does so, generate two new powers from the Biomancy, Divination or Telekinesis disciplines (in any combination) before armies are deployed."

It is says "in any combination" which leads me to question it.

Thanks!

No, I'm afraid its either all from one book or the other. Otherwise, I'd have Divination and Living Lightning.

When it says, "in any combination", it refers to the BRB's psychic powers, i.e. You can have 2 biomancy, 1 biomancy and 1 divination, 1 Telekinesis and 1 divination, etc.

A shame we can't have it all, but I'll take divination. confused.gif

Keep in mind, you don't actually make the decision until you've seen the opposing army. As part of building your list, you declare which codex powers your Rune Priest took, but once you're getting to the rolling, if you think Divination or Biomancy will serve you better than Jaws of the World Wolf will, you can swap out.

I tend to stick to the codex powers just because the look on someones face when a d6 shot auto cannon at BS5 comes smashing into a transport or their big bad whatever is sucked through a hole in the ground.  Being able to throw out 5+ cover saves and limit mobility are also good tools to have but that is just me.  Failing that, when there is no mercy, its double stacked divination/biomancy rune priests throwing down rerolls and dishing out ap2 death.

Gotta go with Thunderhawk3015. Codex powers almost always. I use Jaws just enough that some of the people I play will purposely keep their best toys out of 24" of my RP. Even if it means moving them into LOS of my LF's. You know your powers are good when... Psyching your opponent out can be almost as much fun as winning.
