Why do the Word Bearers appear twice in the poster?

The Gal Vorbak scheme is NOT the scheme the rest of the Legion picks up after Istvaan V. At least, not exactly.

 

Yeah, that's a worthwhile distinction. I believe the rest of the legion took the crimson in honour of the Gal Vorbak, but the black helms were unique to the Serrated Sun. It's possible there's more variation among different chapters, too, it'll be interesting to see what FW does in that regard.

Yep. I know when the survivors of the original Gal Vorbak scatter to the wind, Argel Tal creates the Vakrah Jal(or Chapter of Consecrated Iron) out of various misplaced Word Bearers(they no longer had units). And they had silver helms with blue eyepieces IIRC. And I think they had deathmasks as well, but that may have just been Argel Tal.

My original point was only that, despite the fact that every Serrated Sun (so far as we know) died sometime in the Heresy era, the post-pilgrimage Suns/Gal Vorbak scheme appears to be the one used by the rest of the Word Bearers.How and when the change took place is still the big question mark.
