HH: Inferno

Grimtooth

Recommended Posts

Coming from the Gamesday UK 2013 we finally make our appearance with the Thousand Sons, Custodes, and Sisters of Silence in the aptly named 4th book, Inferno. I hate to do it, but hell, time to wishlist!

13th Co rules with Jorin special character

Bjorn in the flesh!!

Clarification on our rune priests and Nikaea

More named wolf lords to flesh out our HH fluff

Dare I say, Kasper Hawser as a special character? Hahahhaha!

HH Legion numbers and Pospero losses revealed

Godsmote as a character

Would love Godsmote/Two-blade and the gang to at least have a mention.

I think we can definitely see Bjorn as a character.

Would also really like to see some clarification on the symbols of the legion, did they use the current wolf lord has his own symbol thing back then?

Hopefully they will clear up the who was Lord of the 13th thing too, in some sources it states Jorin, in others it is Bulveye, it confuses me very much!

I'd like to think we would also get a wulfen unit with some fantastic minis to go alongside them, and hopefully just a generic space wolf squad, similar to the IH squad. Which might I add is beautifully sculpted.

I hope they keep with the mysterious thing the wolves have going on currently, with the leather masks and all the superstition they have. Abnett really did them justice in Prospero Burns.

Endless possibilities!

I'd be curious to see if FW would include/insert Thunderwolves into the mix since they are a recent addition.

I just want to see thunder rhino, axe men of Russ, varangi veterans, new units, stalker hunter packs, new bits maybe contemptor wolf legion, rune priest, wulfen and Kaerls

Regarding the fate of Kasper Hawser, the ending of Prospero Burns was kinda ambiguous as to what happened to him.

Spoiler:

He is either in stasis deep in the Fang or already digested into thousand dung piles of wolves.

I'm planning to start a heresy vlka fenryka force and want to start stockpiling resin ready for inferno but wondered what armour mark the wolves would have been equipped with for the most part?

I know the heresy weekender poster shows a marine in mk2 but I've always disliked the helmets. I really like the look of mk4 but think it might be too 'clean' looking to fit in with the wolves' aesthetic, what do you think?

It would be any mix from Mk II to Mk IV so it's your choice - it's expected to drop mid-late next year, I'd say for the general grunts it's safe to have Mk III/IV and for the Vets have Mk II/III to show the experience etc. but currently there's no hard and fast rules aside from nothing later than the occasional Mk V kit (the helms especially look great).

What are these "helmets" of which you speak. Do you mean Beard Impeders. I advise against the use of those. I'm not sure why every shipment of armour comes with them.

Very true! There'll be a lot of bareheads throughout the army that's for sure, I'm hoping for similar treatment to the SoH so packs of heads/helmets and torsos to really wolf them up. Hence just stockpiling for now rather than getting them started

From what I can remember, I swear it is mentioned the Wolves were wearing MK IV plate in Prospero Burns. A lot of the art in collected visions shows them wearing Mk IV plate as well. I've based most of my vlka fenryka in Mk IV, but will be adding some MK II into the mix for my Long Fangs and Wolf Guard/Veterans that aren't in terminator armor!

How would you guys convert Forge Worlds current heresy armour to make it more Wolf like?  Just ordered some MkIII and the MkIII assault weapons and they kind of scream Space Wolves at me (especially the heavy chainsword, power axes and lightning claws...)

I try to use as many bare heads as possible. I also like to add some of the SW pack shoulderpads into the mix, the occasional set of SW legs etc. There is one SW pack torso that has a necklace thing to it that hangs over the legs, i like to cut that off and use it on my Vlka Fenryka.

Mine are just a mashup of HH parts and SW parts, but the majority of which is the HH armor.

Studio sources (codices and White Dwarf articles) have always had the 13th Company Wolf Lord as Jorin Bloodfang. It was the Black Library authors that invented the Bulveye character for various novels. Why they didn't just go with already established Studio fluff, Russ only knows.

Ah, thank you for clearing that up for me. Just flicked through the codex and saw that it was Jorin indeed!

I've only been collecting the wolves since the 2009 release so I've not fully gotten to grips with all the fluff from older sources etc :)

I hear you Max. Just watched a video taken of the Forge World discussion workshop from the recent Games Day & the speaker mentioned that one of the upcoming releases is the new book with all the current Space Marine stuff in it in 6Ed rules. Supposedly the Sicarian Battle Tank will be included for use in 40K. IF so, there goes some of my tax return in the new year as I will most likely order the book, a squad of Tartos Termies as well as the Sicarian itself. That doesn't take into consideration the Fire Raptor. I'm gonna have to be really really nice to the missus! LOL!!! Honey, about the Visa bill....
