The start of something...Dark

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

As many of you know I had probably the most resin on my workbench almost a year ago. Well due to sad sad circumstances that are hard to explain, the models were never painted and I was out several grand. Anyways as a true Dark Angel and Horus Heresy fanatic I am rebuilding. The talented guys at Warp Forged Miniatures are doing me a favor and will be making me some awesome Horus Heresy era Dark Angel veterans along with Luther and Cypher with future projects including Zahariel and potentially Nemiel. Anyways here is the first of the 10 Veterans. Their inspiration came from this picture.

The credit goes to Steve not I over at Warp Forged Miniatures. Truly talented. I'm actually open to suggestions on the other 9 veterans. I was thinking doing either swords, dual wielding swords and possibly a nod to the Bors from the King Arthur movie and have the new MkII axes. Lend me your suggestions and I'll let the guys over at the studio to have it added.

PS:when I first saw the model I too had a hard on. I'm just mapping out what the new army will look like as a whole. Think Caliban reserve force with a twist.

You need one holding coconuts

This must happen

Idk if they plan on selling them but the sculptor did cast the helmet :)

If appreciate it if you would let me know if they wanted to sell a few of the helmets or even if you wanted to part with just one. I'd love to have at least one for my Praetor.

First admission. I am *not* a dark angels fan. Second admission. This will be the first DA thread I subscribe to. That green-stuff work is astounding, and the WFP guys know the business.

Are they sculpting and you painting?

Either way, keep that business coming, we need more heresy DA on here.

The Dark angels were my first love (shh! dont let Kol know :P ) with their knighty knight mcknightness and my favorite color is that deep forest green.

Do love the helmets and think that the GS skill has only helped that!

Oh, and the guy holding the coconuts...paint a swallow on his tabard

He will have a very deadly chaos familiar with him....a fuzzy white great calibanite beast known for its long sharp fangs and its love of decapitation. Thank you all for the subscriptions and I hope I can please your need for Heresy Era Dark Angels. The Warp Forge Guys are really a great group and I look forward to what they come up with next for me to paint! My gallery is very light as the Black Templars have been sold for this project.

The new MkIII weapons kit will be incorporated into the veteran squad and more importantly (for our furries in the Space Wolf portion of this forum) will feature a veteran dual wielding the new axes.

Grim Dark and Knightly is how I have always pictured the Dark Angels and their deep rooted honor code. The Order is very cool and their history is very interesting before the Emperor arrived on Caliban. Also I find it interesting that they still had primitive power armor suits and what seems to be a large wealth of archaeotech pistols.
