DuskRaider
I know right? There seems to be a few huge Nightlord and Deathguard fanboys in the halls of Forgeworld. But you're right. Even something as small as a couple extra inches of pursuit or letting the World Eaters charge after running would do leaps and bounds of good to getting them to where they need to be. As it stands, I guess we can only hope some of the new special units and Rites will get them closer to the awesome legion they should be. HEY. There's nothing wrong with Death Guard fan boys. Honestly though, we haven't seen too much HH Death Guard stuff other than pretty much what the others have gotten (Special Unit, Contemptor, Pads, Brass Icons, Doors, and Transfers)... Actually, we seem to have less. We still don't have a Primarch, but unlike the Sons of Horus we don't have an upgrade kit. Flint13
Certainly didn't mean to imply there was anything wrong with you bunch. I'm just as much the die-hard Nightlords nerd. I mean, having a two wound super-terminators with toxic flamethrowers at 45pts doesn't seem untoward But in seriousness, the entire legion looks badass. I've got a 10 pack of the Deathshroud myself... of course they're converted up with chainglaives, little daemon horns and wear the midnight blue... Sevatar
Meh, I don't like the Deathshroud. It's kinda due to the models...but I really, really wanted Cataphractii Two Wound Terminators. Instead, the Death Shroud are Tartaros, and the Grave Wardens have 1 wound :( Our Rite of War is..okay. I would have been much happier with Tactical Squads having Slow and Purposeful, to be honest...but oh well :) Also, the World Eaters hit hard. Hatred, and Furious Charge pretty much off the bat is nasty. The Red Butchers look really nasty too. Two Wound, WS5 Cataphractii will chew through most things with ease. Kol Saresk
There's always the Red Butchers. They have Cataphractii Armor. And I think they have 2 Wounds Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281332-night-raptors/page/4/#findComment-3485900 Share on other sites
DuskRaider
I agree with the Deathshroud. I was honestly hoping they would be more in vain of the original artwork that had them in baroque Cataphract armor, but alas it was not meant to be. The only other thing that bothers me is their proliferation now. Before they were extremely few in number, usually only two at a time with the Primarch. Now you can field squads of 8 as Elites AND have them accompany your Praetor as a Command Squad. Kind of took away the mystique. Now, all you NL players need is the Atramentar What were people saying about the Jump Packs? They appear to be the same to the new Raptor kit. Or one of them, I can't remember. Kol Saresk
Well, that's kind of why I'm just so ehh is because of the similarity in appearance to the 40K Raptor kit. But the actual comment was that they have Mk IV Helmets, some non-standard(or mixed) pattern of armor(then again, it might be Mk IV as well, kind of hard to see from the pictures), but they have Mk II Jump Packs. depthcharge12
If I was a NL player I would've preferred the mkIV jetpacks instead Now they look like one of the greatest of all kitbash kits :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281332-night-raptors/page/4/#findComment-3486411 Share on other sites
Kol Saresk
I would've preferred the old-style Raptor packs. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281332-night-raptors/page/4/#findComment-3486421 Share on other sites
Noctus Cornix
They look fine to me. Heads could maybe use a little work but other than that, I'd be happy with them. Oh, and MK IV jumppacks are better. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281332-night-raptors/page/4/#findComment-3486504 Share on other sites
Flint13
I admit they are totally starting to grow on me. At first I was more "that's kinda a fancy helmet he's got going." Now I'm more thinking "Wow... he tore off an alien's face, and stapled it to his helmet." Plus I kinda like the kitbash thing. The Nightlords do seem to be a legion who aren't above a bit of scavenging in the field. I think it makes them look more battle-worn. So I'm buying *at least* 15 of these as soon as they hit. And I think I just heard my wallet have a little stroke... I do agree on the MKII packs looking a bit better though. Maybe I'll have to grab some normal assault marines and swap them around. ... Now if only Forgeworld would start selling Chainglaives in bulk packs... Fire Golem
I really like the raptor models but then I seem to be in the minority of people who doesn't really like the older style raptor jump packs... Also say what you want about that helmet but if I was holding some fortress at night with thunder and lighting and I turned round to see a space marine staring at me with that face I would be terrified... I really like the helmets and love that they toned down the bat wings but still kept them.
