appiah4
If anyone has a link to a tutorial video or page that shows how to paint this: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cfLrADpxf1A/TtLFYUhos-I/AAAAAAAAAdA/R9bCrEg_Viw/s1600/lotd.jpg Any pointers? Lucien Eilam
Just looks like washes over a white undercoat to me. Spray it white, wash all over with maybe Biel-Tan Green Shade, then Casandora Yellow painted over any area that's "fiery", or that would be lit by the fiery areas. There might be a couple more or different washes involved, but that looks to be the basic principle. Lord Commander Scrymgeour
And then maybe a drybrush or two in green-white mix and then white? They do look amazing so consider that paint scheme stolen! Lucien Eilam
I don't think there's any dry brushing there. Even the sharp edges look shaded green. Kastor Krieg
That's white GW spray primer (takes washes in well), two layers of Biel Tan Green Wash, then somebody went over the flat surfaces with single white layer with a brush. Flames done with Casandora Yellow, added some red paint, done. Looks simple, but I like the ghostly effect it has, very good idea. Although I don't know if I wouldn't just go with a more pale tint of wash, maybe just a single layer (the recesses look VERY MUCH like what my Cobalt Fist wash recesses after two layers of Druuchi Violet). appiah4
I'll surely try this at some point.. The improvements I'm thinking is actually painting the flames on the armor like flames and doing directional yellow lighting from them.. like he did with the eyes and the area around it.. A burning eerie ghostly space marine.. If I can pull that of... RazorDaemon
Yeah, just a white spray base coat, then a solid, even overall coat of a green ink/wash. Likely a second wash of green but only on those parts where it is a darker shade and not just a filled lower area. For the firey parts, I would say it was a yellow base with a red-orange wash, possibly and orange then a red, then highlights with the yellow mixed with the slightest amount of orange. Firepower
Whoever did that posted here on the BnC and actually gave their step by step on how to do it. That was a couple of years ago though I think, so it'll be tricky to find. Google, maybe? :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281388-i-want-to-learn-how-to-paint-this-lotd/#findComment-3485425 Share on other sites

Harold
Looks very similar to Lord of the Rings Army of The Dead. Try a lord of the rings forum, like one ring .net or the last alliance for ideas.
