burning blade and grav shenanigans

just a quick question really.

 

grav weapons have the concussive rule, so an unsaved wound means initiative 1. until the end of the following assault phase.

 

the burning blade has blind, which states and model hit must immediately take an initiative test or be reduced to ws1 and bs1. 

 

would the initiative test be taken against the modified value?

 

if so it could cause some problems for melee specialists. two rounds of combat fighting at ws1 and i1

It would be taken on the modified Initiative, but Concussive affects models while Blind affects units. Characteristic tests use the highest value in the unit.

 

This means that if you wounded, say, one model in a unit of Tyranid Warriors and then attempted to Blind them, they'd still get to use the unmodified Initiative of the unwounded models. It would only affect the Initiative test if you wounded all of the models that share the highest Initiative value in the unit. This will happen most often with precision shots targeting characters, or when you're charging a single multi-wound model.
