Haranin
Starting IG as a third force (dark angels, mechicum).... Since my da are 30k, figured my next artillery piece should be dual use. Anyone used 30k artillery much? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281515-medusa-or-basie/ Share on other sites
Daddywarcrimes
With the ready access to artificer armor in squad sergeants, and the awesomeness that is Cataphractii, the Medusa feels like the obvious choice. AfroCampbell
but the medusa is sooooo short ranged.... :( I think Basilisk. back of the board out of sight, and bombing the crap out of everything. equip your troops with a vox and it doesnt have line of sight penalties attached... :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281515-medusa-or-basie/#findComment-3487496 Share on other sites
Vazzy
A full battery of Basilisks are glorious. Watching a whole twenty man squad geet obliterated off the table in one turn is literally the best. badgermeister
Medusa's for instakilling 2w terminators is good. First it was deathshroud and now i believe another 2w termie has turned up in massacre? ad mech will be so much easier to take out with Str 10 as well. You can use medusas to secure your flanks and force your enemies movements into choke points to use the rest of your guns on Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281515-medusa-or-basie/#findComment-3487588 Share on other sites
Daddywarcrimes
The range of a Medusa doesn't matter when your opponent has to move towards it. Build yourself a battery of 3, and you start to force your opponent into a tough decision making cycle. Really, the only downside I see to the Medusa is the direct fire requirement since they're on an AV12 carriage. Brother Sanvael
Entertaining little note. The Medusa Siege gun in Betrayal has Barrage. It's not a direct fire weapon. Daddywarcrimes
In that case, screw them all. Hide a battery of Medusas behind a few Land Raiders and call it a day. Russ Brother 92
If you're feeling really mean - go for Medusas with Phosphex Shells - AP2 Barrage cruelty haha Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281515-medusa-or-basie/#findComment-3489604 Share on other sites
Daddywarcrimes
To me, the real strength of Phosphex is the area denial for future turns. The poison and the boosted AP are nothing compared to the malevolent cloud drifting along the ground, especially in an objective heavy game. AfroCampbell
Don't you need to have a siege breaker for that then though? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281515-medusa-or-basie/#findComment-3489673 Share on other sites
