Dark Angel Terminator Chaplain ++Almost Finished!++

Hey guys just thought I'd share my latest project.
I built this Dark Angel Chaplain from several parts in my box and have begun painting him. Haven't decided if he'll go on eBay when he's done or not yet.

That looks pretty freaking BA (not like Blood Angels... The other kind of BA)! I'm not sure how I feel about there being a hilt on the Crozius, but I love the idea of a two-handed or long hafted one. It looks like it needs to be even longer, though. It's not long enough to rest on the ground and I dunno why else he would have his hand on it like that. But, that being said, I'm def getting a cold DA kinda malice from him. He's practically dripping with it. Great start! I'll be watching him.

The crozius actually does reach the ground, hard to tell but the pins in the cork are leaning backwards ;) I was very meticulous with creating the crozius to make sure it was the same length as the sword he originally held. His feet are also about an inch off of the cork.

I thought about cutting the hilt off so it's just be a long crozius but couldn't decide on a way to do it without ruining the hand itself.

Right on. Funny camera angle. I think the handle isn't a deal-breaker. It just looks a bit funny at first. I want to see him based and painted!

I'll hopefully get some more work done on him tonight. I did base coat the gold NMM last night. Need to decide on robe colours as well.

Thanks guys! I'm not going to get any painting done tonight sadly! I needed to clean up my room a little and organize some stuff that was driving me nuts! I will however post another picture in a bit of where I stopped last night!

Really, really nice work there Astador! Really good use of parts for the Crozius and the helmet - works very well... can'twait to see it finished!

Ferrus, I'll look in the morning and post it on here for you! I can tell you it's about 6 or 7 paints, plus a wash all from the Privateer Press paint line. :)

My Scale75 order showed up today too so I can't wait to paint the NMM with it!

The NMM looks really spiffy. My only criticism is that I'm not 100% sold on the helmet, but that's personal taste.

Cheers mate. The head isn't for everyone I know, but from the selection of skull bits I had it was the most suiting. :)

MCA, this may be an odd question: but is that skull cage on the tabard torso firmly attached to the torso, or does it dangle?  I'm going to assume it's stuck on there pretty good, but a man can hope!

Lol hate to be the bearer of bad news but it is all part of the mold to the torso :(

 

If it were separate I could never get enough of those parts! But a skillful mold maker could probably produce a mold of just that piece ;)

Oh man, I'm sure I could find a home for at least one skull cage in my army; I try to avoid using the same bit twice- but skulls can always be modded! bullet holes, scrimshaw, etc.  

 

 

But a skillful mold maker could probably produce a mold of just that piece

 

A project for another day perhaps.

After doing the Crux on my Deathwing Terminator and hearing how cool people thought that was I thought I'd do it on this guy as well!

Man, he looks superb. Awesomely done, man. I prefer the 'stony' Crux Terminatus, but this is undeniably great.
