Death Guard Colour Scheme

Recommended Posts

I was thinking of getting some Deathguard to go with my Emps Children for an STD themed army and I was wondering if anyone had some good tips or colour schemes to do the per heresy DG colours? Ive looked at the FW guide which has the base being a white spray and and then some watered down sepia ink but Im a bit unsure about this.

For my World Eaters I used a white primer, then a off white base (Testors grey camouflage). I then used a very watered down white to cover the base coat. For the shadows, I made a custom wash using the technical medium mixed with nuln and earthshade washes. This makes a very thin wash that dries pretty clear (more staining than coloring) where thin but dark where it pools. For DG I would go more on the earthshade to get the brown to show more.

For my Apothecaries Ive gone white with some watered down nuln oil which seems ok but with the DG they seem a bit of a strange colour between orange and brown. I might have to do a couple with agrax and sepia on them and see which comes out better but was planning on getting some Deathshroud which arent the best models to be experimenting on.

hey there, do try using the forgeworld paint guide as it does work out quite well,

my Deathguard have been painted using most of the stages of there guide

few pics to show you, hope this helps

They look really good. I might get another 5 dudes from FW and just use a couple to practice on before I get some more.

I would of done DG for my main instead of EC but didnt fancy painting them but I love having Nurgle and doing Nurgle and Slaanesh invites lots of STD jokes.

@ reasonable commisar..the last comment on nurgle and slaanesh did make me giggle :-D..back on topic, definitely give it a try on a couple of tester marines..and good luck

@Duskraider..yep you guessed right, it is the sponge method..find it invaluable these days!
