I had errands today and I'm also working a split shift so, not much time to work on this, but I did get some cabling done on the sides and smoothed out the tabard:

I know the tabard looks a bit rough, but it's going to be covered in scales later on, so it doesn't matter that much.

Nice work lads!!!!!  I've some minor GS work, then some pics this arvo.

Cheers,

Jono

EDIT: For the RG Assault Marine, which style JP should I go for?? Should we lock in a specific mk for unit coherency, of just do whatever? I've access to the SG/mk IV one, standard 40k, and Chapterhouse's version (think FW mkII/III) and a metal Raptor pack.

I think most of the armor marks mix fairly well, and I can imagine that bits and pieces of older marks would be replaced with new ones as time wore on in the Great Crusade. As for jump packs, I vote for the Chapterhouse version.

I've got a small update on the chappy. I wanted to bulk up the lower leg armor in MK Greyall style, but due to the position of the right leg, it was hard to get good pics of it. Here's a few that turned out OK:

I've been thinking about the paint scheme once this guy is done, and I realized I really don't know much about chaplains from the 30k time period. Was their armor still painted black, or should I paint him up like a normal Sallie?

Which do you guys prefer??? I think I'm also leaning towards the Chapterhouse one, but it really depends on how everyone else does their assault marines.

Cheers,

Jono

#2, again. :)

I reckon that jump pack is one of the things that Chapterhouse had to quit making after the lawsuit. The Jump Pack category on their site is empty now.

Go black for heresy sallies I'm positive they adopted the tradition after nikea

This will be my 8th chaplain figure, and they've all had black armor. I think this time, I'm gonna paint the armor like a regular member of his Legion.

I see bronze colors instead of golds, a warm shade of green, and a lot of free hand flames)))

I'd suggest using the Emperor's Children apothecary from book I as reference.

On the topic though, I'm meticously repairing all the misscast areas on the MKIV Command Squad Captain for the Grey Angel model. One thing that i do need is for Jasp or Heathens to give me some info on what I'm doing. Am I making the Angel Unhelmited ( making a conversion likeness of Furisio, or Just locking the helmet on him?

I thing its a great idea to decide on the paint recepie for the painters. But then again, we need to decide on Who the painters will be!

started sculpting small salamanders details for the Grey Angel, very subtle, just a small dragon teeth fetish on on of the legs. since the philosophy behind the grey Angels is absolutly unmarked grey armor, i figured that a small fetish like that will help define what legion he came from, but delecatly enough.
