McFisty Posted October 11, 2013 Share Posted October 11, 2013 I don't know about any specific links but my marines are painted glossy black. I normally spray it but if you want to paint it on you can try black ink or glaze over your base coat. Some paint is already glossy straight out of the pot/bottle. There are also clear gloss finish coats which you can paint on. I'm not sure if Citadel still carries their 'Ardcoat clear gloss but there are several options to achieve a gloss finish on black power armor. I hope this helps. Rik Lightstar Posted October 28, 2013 Share Posted October 28, 2013 I'd use a solid black base/undercoat, followed by a black/blue wash, fine edge highlight in a dark silver, followed by a really sharp light silver highlight, then Gloss Varnish. Failing this, use blue/turquoise for the highlights for more of a "comic-book" black. Yeah either work, try both on a test figure, ideally do it half and half so you can see the contrast between the two, personally I think a turquoise tone looks better.
