Apologies if this is in the wrong place, but what happened/happens to the Palace. There are a lot of references so far to all the decorative features being stored away, but what happens to it after the Battle of Terra? Is it destroyed completely, does it get restored in the next 10k years? Is it in use in 40k?

"Hey Dorn, now that Horus is dead, you think that you could tell us where you stored all of our treasures? So we can put them back up and try to put a bit of a positive spin on things."

"A POSITIVE SPIN ON MY FATHER'S DEATH!? I NEED TIME TO MOURN IN MY PAINGLOVE!"

*indeterminate period of painful mourning*

"Hey, Dorn, how's it going? You're looking uh . . . well, rather thin actually. Hey, about those treas--"

"Listen, Dorn, bro. Dude. Main man. You've had your time to get over things, now we really want to get the Imperial Palace back to the way it was. Now, can you please help us?"

"You're right, you're right. I was lost in my grief and hatred, but I'm more myself again. I will help you, but I can't right now. The traitors are returning from the Eye, calling it a Black Crusade or somesuch. I have to be there, to lead the fight against them. When I return, we will work together."

EDIT: I'm sure a lot of it did get set back up. But all in all, Terra, or the palace, was probably never the same and would find it all the more important to remain fortified rather than fancified.

I'm sure the emperors children also stole a lot of the treasures, because they could.

"Why are you looking so happy? The loyalist defeated us and killed horus."

"But I stole this really cool golden door to remember it by."

Funny, I always imagined Fulgrim's lot being more into crystal chandeliers....
