So basically i have been wanting to do some ice bases and i heard about crackle paint, basically i'd like to know has anyone tried it, if so do you know any good makes and where can i get some in uk or from internet and not be charged an arm and a leg if possible.

Any well stocked store that sells art supplies should have the cackle paste somewhere with the other mediums. Don't have much first hand experiece with those kind of effects, but I know that depending on how thick you apply it you should be able to get varying sizes of crackle patterns. And if you get the regular stuff for painting with acrylics it'll probably be enough to last you through most of your army.

Either way, only wanted to link you to these articles here and here. The second one is just an interesting (much cheaper) alternative approach to the idea, first one might be more interesting to you though.

Thanks brother. The first article is actually the inspiration for the thread, as i stumbled round the web looking for shiny gems that i could some day include in a project. The second link is swesome mind, especially like the mid way sandwich.
