But even at that, Eisenhorn's radical nature aside, I have to wonder what he has to offer an Alpha Legionnaire to get him to work with an Imperial Inquisitor.

Redemption, vindication? Same as what Eisenhorn desires, perhaps.

on my third read of the whole series.. second book of thje ravenor series atm.

if i have to wait 3 years for the next release i will of read them all like 10 times over by then sad.png thats a long old time...

i like the mystery crime thriller style of the books tbh. always something unexpected occuring when u least expect it. that alpharius scene made me smile like a Cheshire cat and during the church upon seeing Eisenhorn again, its like.. an old friend who's fallen on some difficult times and you're just happy to see him again.

The book is called 'Anarch' - that's totle for the greatest magister of Chaos in Sabbat Worlds - Anakwanar Sek. He planned it already - so whre wouldn't be a two year gap between Warmaster and Anarch. Anarch is the last book in the 'Victory' Arc and is planned for 2016 release slot. Abnett promised on his hearth that Warmaster would be released next year

Penitent is planned for 2017-18 release slot
Next year is 'Warmaster' - this time for sure
2016 - 'Dreadwing' HH novel, continuation from UE and 'Anarch' - the last 4th book in the Gaunt Ghosts  fourth arc 'Victory'

2017 - Penitent and probably new WFB novel

Bit of necro (sorry), but I just finished Pariah, and while I'm anxious to see how the story unfold, I can't say this was Abnett's best work. Way too much exposition at the end, when Bequin meets Eisenhorn and Ravenor... felt quite rushed.

Also, THREE different Traitor Legions, all operating undercover on the same planet, at the same time, looking for the same thing? No. That broke my suspension of disbelief.

The book does create a lot of interesting enigma, but it didn't leave me satisfied like any of the other Ravenor/Eisenhorn books did.

Agree to disagree. Abnetts plotting and scheming in his novels is excellent and believable, exactly how I see the Inquisition. With regards to the Traitor "Legions" sorry, but I only really counted 5/6 in total and one of them was working for Eisenhorn. Astartes being hidden and clandestine on an active Imperial world isnt beyond belief to me.

The differance this novel has is that the story didnt finish with the first book, its just part one. Usually Abnett will have a story per book plus an overarching plot the binds them, this time hes skipped step one and just focused on the overall plot, this explains why the novel ends so abruptly.

Cant wait for Penitent

If anything, it's the abruptness that makes me want the next instalment more! It definitely has the overall potential to be as good as the other two trilogies (which, are superb).

I didn't mean full Legions, just Marines from three different Legions.

I don't think that's particularly good, as far as I'm concerned. I much prefer his usual way of telling a story.

Comments in red.

I think the plausibility of that depends heavily on the importance of the thing in question

I guess we will see as the story develops, but I remain skeptical.

see i got into the eisenhorn/ravenor series when he had already completed all the material - i bought the massive trilogy books with the short stories within as well.

so i could just read straight on and u dont even notice where one ends and another begins. Buying Pariah by itself has killed me because i hate getting to the end of cliffhanger books without being able to immediately read on :P

was the same with Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin (Master & Commander) books. Fortunately they had all been released so i could nip down the shops and get the next in the series, but i cannotsssssss for this one :(
