Brother Captain Sirus
I'd just like a 40k ad mech codex but the concepts you have in place seem alright. Inquisitor Ehrenstein
I started using the Tau codex for a Mechanicum army with the Imperial Guard models. I ended up liking the models and going Tau. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281888-mechanicus-army-ideas/#findComment-3513188 Share on other sites
Cptn. Palladorus
Not bad. The psyker powers could be experimental tech that occasionally goes horribly wrong. I've been considering using an Iyanden Ghost Army list to represent the Legio Cybernetica myself so I'm glad somebody else is thinking along the same lines. BassWave
Or you can just use the mechanicus army in Horus Heresy: Massacre Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281888-mechanicus-army-ideas/#findComment-3516543 Share on other sites

Cptn. Palladorus
No HH list is a good representation of any force in the 41st millennium. Too much has changed. BassWave
It would be closer to actual fluff than making up units in order to use a xenos codex. Dont get me wrong, I was going to do the same with Tau. However after I saw all the effort (especially the starting models) that forge world was putting into mechanicus, I feel its only appropriate to acknowledge their hard work. It might not be 40k, but its A LOT more than we had before. Phoros
I'm inclined to agree with BassWave: it's a bit like saying "Well, the 30k Alpha Legion rules can't represent 40k Alpha Legion, so I'm going to use Codex: Space Marines Raven Guard." Except not, because Chaos Space Marines have a codex, but you get my point. Brother Captain Sirus
If you want a rule set to consider you may want to look at codex:inquisition. Henchmen give a decent variation for making an explorator type warband, plus xenos inquisitors can take a conversion beamer, which is very ad mech. CovertToaster
If you want a rule set to consider you may want to look at codex:inquisition. Henchmen give a decent variation for making an explorator type warband, plus xenos inquisitors can take a conversion beamer, which is very ad mech. ^This If you read the inquisition dex you will see that they have a section on the Ordo Machinum which eventually says that they often have Ordo Xenos inquisitors work for them when they come across new xenotech. An Ordo Xenos inquisitor is a normal human, which you can model with some sort of bionics for an Arch Magos, and they have access to strange and ancient wargear. You can then add acolytes as magos which are the most customizable selection available in wargear terms, you can take servitors as skitarii, Mar's must have a Jokaero or two, and you would have access to a whole host of vehicles of imperial design. Just remember to kitbash pilot's and gunners into servitor's, swap the markings for mechanicus ones and there you have a ready made mechanicum army! I would still like to see a mechanicus codex though as I think it would be close to IH with It Will Not Die everywhere or at least an abundance of the Blessing of the Omnissiah special rule. Oh and lots of bionics and servo arms of course! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281888-mechanicus-army-ideas/#findComment-3524842 Share on other sites
