Astoran
Hi guys. I'm looking for a left handed thunder hammer to replace the frost axe on the Thunder Lord kit. I intend to cut the axe hand off at the wrist to be able to keep the axe and use it on another model. But I cant seem to find a single power armour thunder hammer. Do any of you have any tip as to were I can find one? /Regards, Redbeard Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281965-left-handen-thunder-hammer/ Share on other sites
Lysere
Vanguard Veteran kits now come with power armor thunder hammers. If you don't want to buy the box maybe another marine player will trade or give up one of the thunder hammers. There are also the finecast ones but they don't work well for conversions because of cables. Bulweih
Hyá brother, those are the ones that come to mind: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440277a&prodId=prod1710026a Plus, of course the new ones mentioned by our cousin above. Astoran
Thanks for the tips. The Vanguard ones are both right handed I'm afraid and the metal ones are... well, made of metal so I dunno how well I can make em stick. I might just pick up a box of Vanguards and switch out the hand if I run out of options. infyrana
Umm, just find a left handed sword/axe/something arm with hand, and do some chopping of the hammer onto the arm. ? As for metal onto plastic - just use superglue :) But of course, follow safety rules by not sticking your fingers and clothing together etc :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281965-left-handen-thunder-hammer/#findComment-3496317 Share on other sites

It's easy enough to remove the part of the hammer above the hand and make it left handed, especially if you have an axe handle thats lefty somewhere. Otherwise it's all metal or finecast parts floating around in some lost corner. Astoran
I really want to avoid clipping a shaft from one hand and glue it to another since I have a bad habbit of breaking stuff while transporting them. But if that is what it takes to give my Lord a thunder hammer that is what I will do :-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281965-left-handen-thunder-hammer/#findComment-3496376 Share on other sites
Lucien Eilam
I find it's usually easier to swap the heads rather than clipping it at the hand. There'll be less weight on the join and it's easier to keep it lined up properly. Urauloth
I'm not entirely sure where the discussion of metal came from - the ones Bulweih linked are finecast. Anyway, if you don't want to swap out weapon hafts due to breakage risks, you're prettymuch limited to swapping the entire arm (in which case you'll need one of the finecast hammers) or swapping the head of the weapon (which still carries a breakage risk, but not as severe) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281965-left-handen-thunder-hammer/#findComment-3496468 Share on other sites
Valerian
Hyá brother, those are the ones that come to mind: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440277a&prodId=prod1710026a Plus, of course the new ones mentioned by our cousin above. Redbeard, I've got three of these old ones in metal that I don't need. Send me a PM if you want one. Attaching to plastic is easy via the "pinning" technique. I can explain it, or you can do a search on Youtube for examples/descriptions on how to easily pin the shoulder joints using a small bit of a paperclip and some superglue. Astoran
I realise I did not use my eyes properly. The linked ones are indeed finecast. I might just order a set of thoose. Again thank you for all the responses, this is truly a helpful community. Special thank to you Valerian for offering to send me a hammer, I dont think it will be necassary thou :-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281965-left-handen-thunder-hammer/#findComment-3496769 Share on other sites
