nurglespuss
Hi guys, as a break from my other projects, I decided to finally give some Forge World marines a go, and bought a set of 5 Iron Armour marines. They are going to be Stern Guard (the next 5 will have the Sergeant, Heavy and Special weapons). I've tried to take my time with them, and man oh man Forge World resin is 1000% better than any fine cast I've ever bought. http://angelsofbaal.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/savedpicture-20131015133348.jpg?w=604 Pre paint, all pinned up (I'm tackling the Back Packs last). http://angelsofbaal.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/savedpicture-2013101522530.jpg?w=604 Yellow! (and a bit of red). http://angelsofbaal.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/savedpicture-2013101692857.jpg?w=604 Bit more detail. http://angelsofbaal.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/savedpicture-2013101894726.jpg?w=604 Bit of dirtying up. http://angelsofbaal.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/savedpicture-2013101894732.jpg?w=604 And... I never use transfers, because I have 0 luck with them. I've read a few guides, and broke out my bottles of micro set/sol to help. I applies set first, put on the transfers and applied microsol... Its not looking good yet, if I'm not succesful (I don't think I will be) I'll whip them off, and do my usual hand painting ;p - any tips with the transfers appreciated btw! and feed back in general. These are lovely models, well worth getting for your collections. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282097-iron-armour-imperial-fists/ Share on other sites
One-eye
Those are gorgeous IF ! For the decals, beyond Microset/sol, my only tips are 1/ try to cut the decal as close to picture itself. The smaller the decal, the better the result. 2/ find a good matt varnish (I use Pebeo), and apply it after everything is settled.
