I was looking thorugh the new SM Codex yesterday, and am now at work and dont have it in fornt of me, BUT I could have sworn that the new SM drop pod troop transport capacity is only 10 men.

Is this correct to the best of your knowledge?

I am thinking of creating a new sternguard squad with an IC attached to it and cant remember if the transport capacity is now 10 and used to be 12 men, etc.

Help!

Well their you go, learn something new every day.  It looks like a no brainer the way the model is.  10 harnesses can strap in 10 marines, with no more wiggle room.  That extra 2 models would have been nice for your independent character or 2.

That must have been the whole point, but it gives every impression of having been thought up after the model had already been designed. I'm glad they changed it so at least the rules fit the models, which once used to be GW's guiding principle …

(In fifth edition I kind of envisioned the marines drawing straws before deployment, and whoever got the short one(s) had to sit on the central console with his head next to the storm bolter smile.png)
