Yosef Hausakluif
I was looking thorugh the new SM Codex yesterday, and am now at work and dont have it in fornt of me, BUT I could have sworn that the new SM drop pod troop transport capacity is only 10 men. Is this correct to the best of your knowledge? I am thinking of creating a new sternguard squad with an IC attached to it and cant remember if the transport capacity is now 10 and used to be 12 men, etc. Help! JeffTibbetts
Yes, it's been reduced to ten models. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282118-drop-pods-in-6th-ed-new-sm-dex/#findComment-3499555 Share on other sites

Sanguine Eternal
Drop pods could only take 10 models or a single dreadnought to begin with anyways... At least according to my BA codex. Did 5th ed C:SM have a 12 model limit?? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282118-drop-pods-in-6th-ed-new-sm-dex/#findComment-3499627 Share on other sites
infornography
Yes, the 5th ed C:SM let them carry 12. Not sure where those two extra marines rode since there are only 10 seats, but it allowed it. Also that codex allowed 12 in the standard land raider. Seahawk
External handholds, for those burly marines with bristly bosstaches of boxy power. Sanguine Eternal
Well their you go, learn something new every day. It looks like a no brainer the way the model is. 10 harnesses can strap in 10 marines, with no more wiggle room. That extra 2 models would have been nice for your independent character or 2. Gurth
That extra 2 models would have been nice for your independent character or 2.That must have been the whole point, but it gives every impression of having been thought up after the model had already been designed. I'm glad they changed it so at least the rules fit the models, which once used to be GW's guiding principle … (In fifth edition I kind of envisioned the marines drawing straws before deployment, and whoever got the short one(s) had to sit on the central console with his head next to the storm bolter ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282118-drop-pods-in-6th-ed-new-sm-dex/#findComment-3500285 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
It changed with the new C:SW, because allowing 10 GHs with a WGPL and an IC was to strong for the game at the time. Yosef Hausakluif
I wanted to drop Pedro Kantor in with a full 10 man sternguard 'suicide' squad and then have them split into two 5 man combat squads, but oh well.... Thanks for all of the feedback and insight too. Ishagu
In my opinion a Land raider should have 12 models anyways. It's silly that Calgar can't ride in normal Raider with his Terminator companions. At least chaos allow 4 man Termie squads...
