nurglespuss
Hi guys :) well, I finally got around to purchasing and painting a Forgeworld Heresy unit, and plumped for my favourite chapter! The Imperial Fists (in case that was confusing ;p ). Anywho, I tried out a few new techniques with them, some worked, some didn't work so much. I usually never use transfers, but after 15 applications of Micro Sol, I'm 'OK' with the result. I decided to give them modified 2nd Ed plastic bolters, and a home made Grav gun :) - I'll be making 5 more (Sarge, Heavy, 3 more bolters). Any feed back appreciated! http://angelsofbaal.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/savedpicture-20131021204035.jpg?w=604 http://angelsofbaal.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/savedpicture-20131021204052.jpg?w=604http://angelsofbaal.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/savedpicture-2013102120410.jpg?w=604http://angelsofbaal.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/savedpicture-2013102120415.jpg?w=
Knight of the Raven
They look good and the transfers were well applied as far as I can tell. Gravgun guy seems to lean forwards too much though.
nurglespuss
I agree on that, its the pose they came in, in future I'll mod their bases so their super runyness is counteracted :) cheers!
Olis
Although the paint work is pretty neat, I find the poses quite same-y. Perhaps a head or two looking to the right would have broken up that feeling. However, like I said, I can't fault the paint work at all.
nurglespuss
Cheers, your right there! The next 5 will break that up i hope!
GhostMalone
Have you considered the blood and bone scheme for the helmets?
nurglespuss
Blood and bone? The sarge will have the white stripe, if that's what you mean?
GhostMalone
Yeah, it's traditional fluff that all the helmets had the stripe as they were all the blood and bone of the imperium iirc
Terrahawk
Looking great! If I ever get around to painting some IF Sternguard, they most certainly will be rocking the Iron Armour.

nurglespuss
Cheers guys! ;p as for the bolt guns, I foolishly converted these (I have loads been at this far too long ;p ), and painted them, without dry fitting them ;p Had to trim/skinny/reassemble and repaint them all to make em fit! ;p
Barabbas Sogalon
Great work! I really like the yellow and the glow from the eyes.
Kierdale
Can we get some close ups? One of that grav would be particularly nice. Good work on them all. Edit: with my Mk.3 marines I used hot water on one of the running pose ones to soften it and bent the left leg forward. Not too difficult and it gives you another pose.
