GhostMalone
Well because those cowardice Night Lords & Word Bearers think they can talk about army lists and tactics, I thought well us WE are the ones that truly do the fighting and I was wondering due to us getting decimated till we reach close combat what lists tactics others use to counter a lot of our shootier foes. -Taron Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282281-world-eaters-tactics/ Share on other sites

Scribe
Hey now, we are all on the same side here brother... Everything for me right now boils down to a Spartan, with a mob of Terminators. Spartan + Red Butchers + Angron? lol. If I where to do World Eaters thats where I would start. Then I would drop pod whatever I could (a few CC Contemptors) throw some assault marines into the mix, and run 20 strong despoiler squads until I ran out of points. Really though, Spartan + X is my answer. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282281-world-eaters-tactics/#findComment-3502967 Share on other sites
GhostMalone
Is it at all possible to have a dred drop pod with angron inside? I don't like the idea of him in vehicles, as he's usually jumping in a drop pod to get down to the fight ASAP. GhostMalone
Hmmm I need to find a way to get him in ASAP. The breachers do alright until the 4th round then get obliterated by artillery, I'm trying to decide what to invest in Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282281-world-eaters-tactics/#findComment-3502977 Share on other sites
Brother Aiwass
Take a hint of a 'cowarly night lord' you say? Follow the advice of the Scribe of Khorne. Land Raider Spartan. As much as you can. Angron + Red Burchers + Spartan 20 tacticals w/ chainaxes + Spartan 20 tacticals w/ chainaxes + Spartan Everything else in drop pods. And remember, Blood for Sanguinius the Blood God! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282281-world-eaters-tactics/#findComment-3503005 Share on other sites

hisdudeness
You guys seem to forget that assault squads are troops and that there are two other units that can have jumppacks. I say have a wave of assault troops to pin the enemy down and then a wave of despoilers and butchers to kick them in the jimmies while they cry like babies. Kol Saresk
That's an idea, Destroyers with Phospex and Rad in the Elites, Assault Troops with Flamers in the Troops and say, Javelins with Multi-Meltas in the FA slot with and Preds with Heavy Flamers and a Flamestorm/Magna-Melta in the HS slot. Probably not the most effective list, but it'll give you more burn than bad indigestion. Kill, maim, burn, rinse, repeat? :D Unfortunately, to benefit from the rite of war....you probably need at least 3 20 man tac squads with additional cc weapons so you can take full advantage of their legion rules. One unit stands and furies, one unit moves and shoots normal, one unit moves and runs. That way you can provide suppressing fire while moving your board controlling blobs up the field and take advantage of the rerolls for run and pinning. oh and make sure you dont assault because then you will have to make sweeping advances after winning as per the rite of war.....wait whut???? Kol Saresk
Bah, Rites of War are optional. Look at the Night Lords. Chances are you have a better chance of using all of their rules if you don't use it since Terror Squads can only number ten at most and they'll be forming the core of your list. Sevatar
Hmmm, I'm not sold on the Red Butchers. It seems much more efficient to have lots of Cataphractii/Chosen instead - the Butchers, IMO, are too expensive compared to the other big hitters. depthcharge12
Didnt one of the rules in massacre switch the WE's legion rules? It switched bloodlust for bloodmadness or something so you get automatic rage instead of stupid wierd circumstance rage I thought. Scribe
Yes, you can optionally take Blood Madness and get rage free, which seems a bit of a no brainer really. Re: Cataphractii vs Butchers. 175 Points if you take 10 (500 points for the butchers) gets you. 10 more wounds. FnP 6+ Hatred WS 5 Re-roll charging. Sevatar
Pah what you want is Firedrakes, only way to go!Red Butchers do seem much better that I thought, now, but I reckon the Drakes could take them - hitting on a 3+ is nice. hisdudeness
WoT...did you get lost? I think you're in the wrong neighborhood. What is with the vehicles guys? Kol Saresk
Because you can crush, kill, maim and burn with a tank better than a chainaxe? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282281-world-eaters-tactics/#findComment-3503514 Share on other sites
hisdudeness
But that's not World Eaters and I really don't think that is true. I can do more damage with some of my squads then I can with a tank or two. Kol Saresk
The XII Legion had armoured regiments though. Betrayer has something called a Bloodhammer. hisdudeness
I know they do, but I just don't feel that it is very fluffy. But I have tons of fun with my jump force, so am kinda biased. A Spartan rush seems more IF or IW then WE. I would love to see a droppod Rite geared toward WE. Kol Saresk
An armored spearhead than breaks the frontline wide open and then sits there and pounds the enemy into oblivion while everyone else rushes in through the gap actually sounds very World Eater-y.
