facmanpob
It does give that impression, doesn't it? The funny thing is, just like with the mine plow for a real tank, it's not really necessary to have a blade anywhere but in front of the tracks...after all, the point of the blade is to prevent the vehicle from becoming immobilized...and there's no mobility at risk if the assault ramp is dented by running over a fire hydrant, is there? That would depend on what the dozer blade is there for...... if it is for combat engineering, such as clearing gaps through berms, then the plow does need to go across the whole frontage, otherwise you end up with 2 furrows and a hump in the middle that vehicles can get stranded on. If it is for mine clearance, then the tracks are the important thing as you suggest. That looks just absolutely great. It almost gives the impression that the two separate dozer blades are meant to come together in the middle, covering the entire front of the landraider when in motion and opening up sideways to allow egress of the Deathwing! very nice. SG I wasn't sold on the split blade idea until I read this! Genius idea! Although Kromlech got there before us..... http://www.kromlech.eu/kromlech-products/vehicles-c13/krvb010-side-mounted-dozer-blades-g151.html Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282424-dozer-blade-on-a-lr-do-you-have-any/page/2/#findComment-3512898 Share on other sites
[TA]Typher
I did happen to move the blades closer, as I suppose they could move out of the way to disembark troops. I know it's not a huge change, but it looks better. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z389/typher/Misc%2040k/Dzr11_zps030c13f0.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282424-dozer-blade-on-a-lr-do-you-have-any/page/2/#findComment-3513072 Share on other sites
march10k
pob, I agree...I just see them as being there to keep the land raider from being immobilized, not to pave the way for other vehicles to follow! Xenith
Great looking blade. While the DA are ok, C:SM Landraiders are no longer allowed to take dozer blades. Just one more advantage over your codex cousins... [TA]Typher
Very cool find Turbo. That's a great paintjob, but I wish they looked a little more dynamic. Maybe a bent here or there to follow the flow of the vehicle.
