The beginning of my Red Scorpions.

As the title states, I've decided to take up the Red Scorpions as my army. Before this, I was having a very difficult time deciding on what I really wanted. Raven Guard ended up being a very close second, but in the end I think the oppurtunity to make a bunch of power weapon apothecary Sgts won out in the end.

 

I'm a pretty casual gamer, mostly I enjoy playing with things that I think look cool, rather than playing an army I know would have better chances of sneaking away with a win. It's all about having fun after all.

 

Most of all, with this little project of mine, I plan on stretching the limits of my hobby know how and try to work myself up to a new level of sculpting and converting, as well as painting. Last night was the very first time I have ever attempted any real free hand, other than a few ultra symbols when I picked up black reach in 08.

I'm incredibly pleased with how the banner turned out. It was probably the most stressful thing I've ever done. Hope y'all enjoy.

I'm actually planning on getting all of the special characters. Culln isn't as high on my list as Loth, but I would like to have him.

 

I can't promise a good time frame for updates, as two small children demand that all my attention is focused on them, but I do feel like I've had a pretty steady pace so far. Mostly cutting up legs ATM.

As I'm sure a lot of people were that dislike robes, I pretty much hated the legs in the new sternguard kit, but decided I paid a lot for them so I'll use them. I've put together 3 apothecary veteran Sgts, using the new kits. One of which will be my Sgt Haas for the time being.

 

First up is Sgt Haas.

Then the other two. One of which will be named after my cousin Daniel, who is currently serving as a medic in US Army.

There will be a few more apthecaries to come, as obviously I'll need another to accompany my company banner. And generally when I play, I run 4 tactical squads. Might as well get the FNP while its free.

Good start ,The Banner looks great .In my Scorpions I have 10 Apothecarys.
