Nadir
It was my first battle (in 6th ed.) against the evil and twisted Chaos Marines from space. 1500 pts. battle, 6 objectives, fast attack scoring. Only terrain was 6 ruined buildings (5+ cover). Chaos forces: Lord with j.pack, and lighting claws, mark of Slanesh (+1 In), some other stuff Sorcerer: termi armour, 3 powers, some other stuff 2x10 Noise marines with sonic blasters (bolters with 2/3 salvo) and blast masters (S8 AP3 blast, pining, ignores cover), stadard granting feel no pain. 6 Havocs : autocannons, mark of nurgle (+1 T) 5 raptors with meltaguns 5 terminators: mark of Tzeentch (Inv 4++), some combi meltas, some claws, fists and p. weapons, and a reaper autocannon Space Wolves: Rune priest: living lighting, m. hurricane 15 BC: 2x flamer, LUKAS (!) 10 GH: 2x melta, stansard, wulfen, p. sword 10gh: 2x plasma, standard, wulfen, p. axe 6 LF: 2 lazzcannons, 2 missile launcher 1 land raider crusader (melta, x. armour) 1 Vindicator 1 Lone Wolf: termi, hammer, shield Deployment: Chaos: all forces behind or in the buildings. 2 Objectives in their hand allready. One unit of Noise Marines in the open field, but contesting the objective. Terminators and jump infantry in reserve. SW: LF on the top of the building, the rest behind the LRC and Vindi, one unit in the ruins. All of my forces were outside of the Havocs range, so he was forced to move them if he wanted to shoot me. TURN 1: CH: One shoot from blast master, 5 GH dead... Another shoot 1 hull point down from Vindi. Some movements, nothing more SW: BC jumped into the LRC. All army moved forward. Infantry runs, Vindi flat out. LF shoot and kill 3, Rune priest kills another 2 noise marines with living lighting. LRC shoot with machine spirit, killing 2 slanesh slaves from another unit. TURN 2: CH: Raptors misshap. I could move them anywhere, so they finally landed in the middle of the noise marines squad, just outside their fire range for that turn. Sonic blaster hits and kills 5 Grey Hunters from the seckond squad, so now both squads have got 5 men. Havocs manage to kill 2 good ol' Long Fangs. SW: Vindi moved and shoot. Placing pie plate on the heads of Raptors and a few Noise Marines, killing almost all of them. LRC finished the rest of the squads, after closing slightly to the another one (occupying the ruined building with 1 objective near it). Priest with Long Fangs did kill 4 Havocs. Everything else just run towards the enemy. GH had tried using their bolters, but they were distracted of Vivaldi's music and cannot wound anything. TURN 3: CH: Terminators appeared, in the blue flames of Tzeentch just behind my armoured lines. They destroyed Vindicator with their melta shoots (LRC was just less than 0,5 inch too far). But their god was moody that day, and 2 of them died in the explosion :D Rest of the army slaughter one of the GH packs, killed another 3 Long Fangs, and leave another Hunters with only 2 guy in it. SW: LRC moved a little bit, and release the Wolves out! Just into the ruins, the floor under the Chaos occupants. The Lone Wolf went to meet the Chaos Terminators, with the last 2 Hunters standing nearby. Long Fangs killed one Havoc. Terminators deny the witch, so mine Rune Priest could just watch the upgoing brawl. The carnage: BC flamered Noise Marines with Sorcerer in the unit (18 hits just from the flames!). After the LRC and BC shooting, only 3 Marines and terminator maggus were standing. I've charged wiping them out with 54 normal and 4 Lukas attacks. Mine brave Grey Hunters and Lone Wolf killed 2 terminators (including the sergeant in the challenge) for the cost of the grey Hunter, and 1 wound on the Lone Wolf. And thats it! We decided to end here. I've contested 3pts. Objective with 15 Blood Claws. Get the First Blood, Line Breaker, and Slay the Warlord. He has got 1 vp. for my still living Lone Wolf. So 6:1 for the Wolves. But it was a carnage! LRC was untouched. So the Blood Claws. Also survived: 1 Grey Hunter, Lone Wolf, Rune Priest, and a Long Fang. On my opponent side there were 1 terminator, and some Havocs. Allfather, I hate those blasted blast masters! For +30pts. it's a great marine killer. And without any saves allowed (even cover saves) it can be a real pain in the tail. I have a lots of luck, when he failed to drop his raptors where he want to. His sorcerer cast some spells, but almost all I dispelled or saved the wounds inflicted. It was a good idea of mine, to run in a one wave. Trying to hide foot sloggers behind the tanks. But saddly it was impossible to hide everyone :( It was my first time, when I've bring Vindicator, Lukas, and a Lone Wolf on the table. I'm starting to like those two. The Trickster is faaaar too expensive. It would be better to take some terminator armoured Wolf Guards or a pack of scouts to make some false tunes in the opponent music. Blood Claws are nice, when you keep them in a big pack. Maybe they have a low WS/BS, but still their 3+ save and those flamers keep them useful sometimes. Rift Blade
Thanks for sharing Brother & good showing for the Wolves. Agree about the cost of Lukas. Cool character, love the model but way to pricey for my tastes. Hopefully if we get a new dex, his points will drop a lot.
