Lord_Urbonov
Current project: modifying Valkia the Bloody to use a Deamon Prince in my Word Bearers army. http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m2730271a_99800201020_WoCValkiaCFC02_445x319.jpg This will in fact be the first deamon prince I have used, so I have a couple questions: 1) Are Deamon princes on the same size bases as Greater Deamons, or more like terminator bases? 2) To be legal, is there a certain height she has to be to be used as a DP? 3) My List calls for her to be weilding the Black Mace, so does anyone have any good suggestions for bits to look for that are a left handed mace-like object?' My list also calls for a Herald of Khorne on a juggernaut, and sadly the current bloodletter/herald on a jug isn't that impressive to me. 4) Do you think there likely be any objections to using the following as my herald? http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m2730286a_99810201004_WoCKhorneJuggerCFC02_445x319.jpg (I'm aware this likely would be on a case-by-case basis for whoever runs the tournament I go to, but I wanted to ask anyway) If anyone has any thoughts, suggestions, or tips about either of the models in question, I'd be very interested to hear them. Cheers! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282518-deamon-prince-changes-misc/ Share on other sites
Rev. Tiberius Jackhammer
1) The finecast Nurgle Prince and Plastic Prince come on 60mm bases, but the finecast undivided Prince comes with a 40mm. I'd recommend using a 60mm base. 2) I'd suggest finding an official prince model/size references of one and putting Valkia on a scenic base that raises her to a similar height. 3) Perhaps cut off Valk's spear and glue the Dark Vengeance plastic mace to her hand? 4) I don't see any problem with it, should probably take the Warpforged armour option. Lord_Urbonov
Thanks for the info :) Another question. My list calls for around 14 Fleshhounds, and was considering using the beastmen warhounds as stand ins (cheaper and you get more). Other than vampire count dire wolves, I can't think of any other good subs for the fleshhounds. Any thoughts anyone? Rev. Tiberius Jackhammer
Yup, I don't think anyone would have a problem with that - it's pretty common! Pretty sure the previous style of Fleshhounds were similar to the Warhounds anyways. Bungicats
Puppetswar makes some awesome looking hounds: http://www.puppetswar.eu/img/p/259-972-large.jpg As long as it's not an actual GW held event, I can't see any reason an opponent could complain. As for a dark mace the chaos marauder sprues have some interesting flails and the dark elder also have some interesting barbed flail gadgets as well. Bungicats
That's a nice mace. I was thinking last night about the marauders and why I thought flail = mace I'll never understand. Sorry for my *senior* moment. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282518-deamon-prince-changes-misc/#findComment-3507545 Share on other sites
Silver fang
As far s I know, as long as you put the model on the right base for its type then you should be fine with using whatever you want. Most daemon princes are large but they don't have to be. Also, the jugger knights just look bad to the bone. Just make sue you stick them on a round base.
