Larhendiels Army

Oh that Land Raider is awesome. I was planning on doing some freehand on my own crusader, and if it turns out just half as crisp as yours, I'll be a happy man! And awesome looking army! Great work!

congrats and welcome to parenthood :) my daughter is four months old, and even though she's a lot of work, every time her face lights up in a smile from ear to ear you forget all the hard work!

sorry, side tracked ;) how did you make the bases? They are beautiful!

Thank You Brothers for such warm praising words! They mean a lot to me, yet I must confess I am undeserving them.....

I work nights 4 nights on 12 hours each and then I have four nights off work, after several years of this, my sleep-awake periods are totally broken, so I went to bed 5pm, woke up midnight and started to finish this venerable vehicle, but as you can see, many of the lines are not quite as straight as they should be.

I wasn't entirely sober while painting this LRC.....

I went to sleep again about 8am in the morning, woke up 3pm just to go for a game.

There isn't many people who expect 2 LRC with 4+ invuln save and techmarine who fixes them on roll of 2+. On top of that I fielded dakka banner, and all this in 1500 points. Game was VERY one sided and my opponent had 4 termies left on board turn 5 when me and him called a game end. Yet there wasn't much grudging on his part, seeing two such tanks painted nicely - not many people have strenght to complain. So I'm thinking about the same techmarine in Caestus ram now ph34r.png

Next, I hate to post in my painting plogs without an excuse called new painted minis to show

So here is my Librarian with arcane displacer field, in fact he is my avatar on the battlefield, if he dies, I take it personally.

Next to him is almost finished chaplain:

I also learned that speaking unkindly and with criticism about GW is not welcomed in my gaming group.

I have collectors edition of Codex Dark Angels, I played Bretonnia for many years and after my just-starting his Warhammer adventure friend has beaten me mercilessly on our second game (his fourth game ever) with his brand new codex High elves, I started to think about some alternative for time being, I chose DA mainly because of DV box content of awesome robed miniatures, I decided to go all out with it.

This book of ours, limited edition has cloth like cover under this sleeve thingy (and it gets dirty super easy-super fast), paper seems slightly different than standard version, font is the same, artwork the same, errata&FAQ, the same as well as all our pictures and spelling mistakes. Nothing special in it except envelope and black ribbon to mark its pages. I used the sleeve cover to put it on space marine codex, so I have major and minor DA chapters smile.png

Now for several days I ponder on idea of typing almost all our codex into word processing programme, choosing the fluff I want, prayers from Angels of Darkness book, copying all the rules without spelling mistakes and taking into account our "comprehensive" errata for 7th. Also I want to add section with all the known names of fallen angels in alphabetical order, so every time I go to play, before we start I'll ask names of all the opponents characters and look for them in the book smile.png

Now, HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE!?

Then I go to a specialist who binds books in leather, show him desing I want to have engraved, print all that I typed in with my own custom font and nice graphics, creating my own, fan made yet accurate towards the rules, limited edition, very fluffy codex.

My only concern is; will GW lawsuit daemons be after me for doing this??

Oh in this dex I would also put rules for mortis dreadnought and mentioned above Caestus for easier reference should I ever use these models

I love the way you do your capes on the special characters. Very clean.

That's quite a backpack to tote around for the Libby! I mean if he misses with a swipe of the sword, he can probably smack someone upside the head with one of those stone angels on his back! Looks really nice though, super clean paint jobs.

Thank you brothers!

You're right prot about the backpack, I'd gladly take those angels off and swapp them for something else like braziers but I frankly cant find ones of apropriate size and bretonnian braziers are simply too big

EDIT:

These are the items I found in my box, frankly none of them I have is repeating itself except that bretonnina lamps and reliquay, prefect would be second empire wizard brazzier but I DO NOT HAVE ONE :(

So I'm thinking about skull with candles on one side and brazier on the other

The land raider is just stunningly good brother thumbsup.gif. Your freehand work is awesome, and I really like some of the colour choices you've made throughout the army. The Librarians for example look great in that Emperor's Children purple msn-wink.gif

The angel backpack is a bit big but I actually really like it. I'd probably call it a power field generator rather than a displacer field though, as it looks like it would shield the marines around the Librarian as well as himself. If you do end up changing it, I'd probably go for the relic that's at the top of your last pic (the one that looks like an alter or something) and just place it at the centre of the pack.

Keep up the good work mate! thumbsup.gif

Thank you brother :)

Long time I haven't painted anything for Dark Angels, but now in my local GW store they make Armies on parade competition so I thought I should enter.

Here is my Ravenwing Standard of Devastation/Fortitude, sadly it was modelled on Apothecary at times when I wrongly thought he can carry it (and also benefit from extra look out sir protection). However since no opponent ever had issue with me fielding it this way I thought I might as well keep it like that.

It is attached on magnets.

PS. I think I'll clean up the writings now once I looked at the pictures. Always when I finish model and I photograph it I find some painting errors which I then clean up to picture it again and then find some more... never ending cycle :P

Thank you brother

The marble I've done by simply using old codex grey, then layer of astronomician grey with lines made by bleached bone with highlighst of streaks and overall sculpture done by dead white from vallejo, then I simply washed it with blue ink dilluted with dish washing liquid to prevent surface tension

How did I miss this? Both the standard and the rider are awesome. Looks good sitting with his fellow bikers too.

If I'm being honest - I don't like the white edging on the bases. Maybe it's all getting a bit light. Just my opinion of course <_<
