LutherMax
Oh that's a spooky guardsman! Loving the ceramic mug on his backpack Without going into too much detail, are his shoulder-pads and helmet painted with metallics at all? The feel of the surface's roughness you created on them is just awesome! Yep, they are painted with one of my favourite metallic paints – Vallejo Metal Color 'Exhaust Manifold', followed by both brown and black oil washes. The washes make the metallic sheen of the paint barely visible – but it is there I love how the mug stands out. I'm drinking out of one that is oddly similar, but green rim. Now, if you can get a micron pen and write "My other lasgun is a shovel" on it, then the golden demon is pretty much yours. LOL! Monstra Sumus
Probably one of the worst or best times to get an itchy crack I suppose! Excellent as always Luther! I love the OSL glow for the eyes, such a lovely color that compliments the uniform. Urauloth
Magnificently repulsive! I'd love to know some details about how you did this armour, if you don't mind? Those rust effects are amazing, some of the most realistic I've ever seen. Majkhel
Always a fan of paler armor for DG! Additional cooling with violets looks fantastic and adds to the sinister look of the marine. Lovely rust effect too! LutherMax
Thanks for the comments! @Urauloth I will be making a full guide on this scheme but for now I can tell you that for the rust I used Typhus Corrosion (for texture) and Dirty Down Rust – which is a somewhat unpredictable product, but unparalleled in terms of realism. I just need a bit more practice with it. Moving on, I've returned to Astartes (literally!) for this Retributors space marine... Majkhel
Yes! THANK YOU! I can already hear the thumping of the deck under his boots! Really liking the beige hue of the grey in the highlights! I think bolter-casing could use some other color though. Black even if nothing fancy like turquoise. Still great work and a fantastic study to learn from!
