Iron Warriors and World Eaters are battle brother equvilent, as such can use each others benefits. The total force is 2000-2500 points. IW will have artillery, predators, tarantulas, rhino units.. But yet to be determinated for when the next book comes. List A : no rite of war 105 - Chaplain : Power Maul, Combat Shield, Meltabomb, Artificer Armour 260 - 19 Tactical Squad : Chainaxes; Power Fist, Meltabomb, Artificer Armour 210 - Storm Eagle Gunship 230 - Fire Raptor Gunship - HH autocannon 805,- List B : Orbital Assault 145 - Praetor : pair Lightning Claws, Combat Shield, Digital Weapons 200 - 10 Tactical Squad : Chainaxes; Power Fist : Drop Pod 205 - 8 Support Squad : 7 Volakite Caliver; 1 Chainaxe : Drop Pod 95 - Techmarine : Nuncio Vox, Meltabomb : Drop Pod 95 - Techmarine : Nuncio Vox, Meltabomb : Drop Pod 95 - Techmarine : Nuncio Vox, Meltabomb : Drop Pod 835,- / 880.- with Khârn instead List C : Orbital Assault - Combi 145 - Praetor : pair Lightning Claws, Combat Shield, Digital Weapons 260 - 19 Tactical Squad : Chainaxes; Power Fist, Meltabomb, Artificer Armour 210 - Storm Eagle Gunship 230 - Fire Raptor Gunship - HH autocannon 200 - 10 Tactical Squad : Chainaxes; Power Fist : Drop Pod 95 - Techmarine : Nuncio Vox, Meltabomb : Drop Pod 95 - Techmarine : Nuncio Vox, Meltabomb : Drop Pod 1235,- / 1280.- with Khârn instead List D - Berserker Assault 145 - Praetor : pair Lightning Claws, Combat Shield, Digital Weapons 260 - 19 Tactical Squad : Chainaxes; Power Fist, Meltabomb, Artificer Armour 210 - Storm Eagle Gunship 230 - Fire Raptor Gunship - HH autocannon 200 - 10 Tactical Squad : Chainaxes; Power Fist : Rhino 1045.- / 1090,- with Khârn instead Suggestions for alternative / better wargear upgrades are greatly encouraged :) The idea with techmarines, is to work as 1) helping IW artillery with nuncio, 2) disturb enemy armour with meltabombs, 3) destroy weak backfield enemies in cc (3 attacks + 2 on the charge + servo arm, AP 2, S6 after fist kill), 4) block critical LoS with the drop pod, against own artillery, 5) repair offensive vehicles when/if it is appropiate to reach the techmarines. Russ Brother 92 Posted November 2, 2013 Share Posted November 2, 2013 I'd say if you're running them as an allied force then your max spend should be the 1k range - and more importantly, it should cover areas your IWs are weak in, so IWs excel at long-mid range combat (shelling them with Phosphex, heavy weapons and breachers) meanwhile your WEs are better in CC - I'd go for either Red Butchers backed up by 20-man 'Despoiler' squads (this gives you mass infantry and a core of 5-10 2W WS5 Terminators who are exceptionally hard) OR go for 20-man 'Despoiler' squads with apothecaries and a Storm Eagle or Fire Raptor for some mixed anti-air. If you want better anti-infantry imo. then I'd go for either a Reaver based SoH army (Maloghurst or a Praetor w/ the Black Reeving RoW make them troops) or just add more to your IWs as they can certainly do anti-infantry duties well with Destroyers and Plasma/Volkite Support Squads and Heavy Weapon Squads - or even go for some Executioner predators...
