Yet again several days late (but thankfully with over a week in hand this time) I present December's completed commitment, Tactical Squad Gonaevan. Enjoyed painting these far more compared to Squad Burabius, probably due to the ease of assembly with the new tactical box, real 5* effort from whoever designed that. 

 

Again not 100% with the highlighting, but meh it's a work in progress and before taking on this project I'd only ever highlighted 2 squads of Deathwing and a Company Master so it's a step in the right direction

Since my army is expanding rapidly (or resurfacing after several years of unpainted hell) I'm going to include my entries here into my wider WIP log. Hopefully the crazy painting mojo I've found from somewhere doesn't desert me before they get finished. So with that in mind here is January's pledge, Devastator Squad Icareon.

Captain and T..he Librarian



Updated WIP Kantor, now with Grey Knight spear

Also built my Librarian with Force Staff and dueling sword (he needs to be cleaned up a bit and based, bit pretty happy with the pose.

Paint will happen in the next few days. Not sure how I'm going to so the Libby blue; thinking I'll do it metallic as a throwback to when I decided to paint Executioners

That's a great looking Captain, I especially love the jump pack Libby, there's a very strong "you shall not pass" vibe going on.

I know the spear pushes the bounds of counts as for a Kantor, but whatever, I'm never going to play I don't think and I love the pose.

 

As for the Libby, I'm really happy with him. I think I've gotten a good engarde pose combined with a bit of the old Gandalf haha. Not sure what to do with basing him, but I'm tempted to find a way to have a dead chaos marine or xenos at his feet.

 

Now to find time to paint!

It's safe to say these won't be done anytime soon since I need to get hold of some drill bits in order to magnetize the wrist sockets for those juicy combi weapons but a squad in a day is a pretty fine effort by my useless standards

Hey all- here is my "proof of life" for December. Still not completed, but a whole lot closer. A lot of the accessories on these scouts are dark gray, so they are actually farther along than the picture makes it look.

 

Once they are 100% done, I will post better pictures with a real camera.

Hi all, I've had some real trouble this month. First my pics where the wrong size and I could not upload them, then we had a blackout from 23rd till about 30 mins ago which meant I had no internet or even a computer to upload. I'm very pleased to say though that all this has been overcome and I have some wip and the finished models. First though I'd like to say geektom; I'm just loving those scouts, they're so amazing. The colours are just superb and crisp. Jaspcat; what a skimmer. All the models this month are just amazing.

So here are my pics including my finished models. one Basilisk and two 10 man squads with grenade launchers.

Hey all- I originally said I was going to do a 10 man scout squad and 5 termies for December, but that was clearly too aggressive. If I get the scouts 100% done, can I get a reprieve and still stay in the challenge?

I don't think you've used your joker yet Geektom, so I think you'll be fine, those are some good looking scouts btw.

 

Colonel Sanguine that red and silver is very striking, good work brother.

 

That's gonna be a sick lookin seeker squad reaper_man, You're making me wish I could order some more FW soon. I'm excited to see them fully painted.

ok! 10 Scouts finished-- or at least as finished as they will be for this month.

 

More pictures on the WIP thread if you want close-ups and other angles... Happy overall with how they came out, but boy! Those close up shots sure do show the flaws... I need some new brushes.

hi guys i thought i'd be able to get this month's vow complete but still a few xmas parties being held for a few days and new year's eve party on tuesday, so i'm playing my Joker now. after tuesday work will be quiet so i'll be able to get some models done. 

 

SO onwards and upwards. i'm loving the models being posted and you guys are an inspiration, and glad that i'm part of it. for next month, i will be doing Scout Squad Hannaron, as well as Tactical Squad Perdain. 

in case i don't get the chance to say it, happy new year everyone. may you have a great time whatever you decide to do.
