A Tale of 18 Hobbyists - WIP project thread

And now my March contribution is done! I ended up really coming to dislike finecast after these four guys, and to be fair, old metal models. Still though, I'm glad they're built and painted, it'll allow me to try some interesting and annoying combinations. I'm thinking put a servo-harness marine with a full set servitors inside an Achilles or maybe a Helios.

I wasn't planning on doing all the different shoulder pads, in-fact the helmetless techmarine had a bronzeish/metallic-yellow/dull-gold studded pad,  but I did the Tri-star logo on the left metal marine, liked the way it looked and decided my other metal marine needed a rimless pad too, in addition to the squad/company colors.

I just realize that in this picture the far left Techmarine (the actual Forgelord for my list) seems to be missing his flamer, thankfully I have an inprogress show of him having it.

Coming up next month, another Deimos Predator, Bases, and a one armed Dreadnought build!

I would love to add another new style harness guy and another old style servo arm style, I may have to learn to greenstuff sculpt to make it happen. Though, if FW came out with a couple of 30K techmarines, though, that would be just about perfect.

Hi guys just so you know i am having a few probs with my internet provider at home i'm doing this through works wi-fi i will upload pics as soon as possible but it will be my january vow of scouts and tacticals as well as characters to be honest i will probably leave a unit from my list from the final month so i can go into the final month with you guys.

Great models everyone, love seeing the comeraderie in this. If i am disqualified then fair play, its my own fault for not providing pics etc. This is a great project though and love the sense of enthusiasm involved.

As near to the end as we are, I figured I'd post up a small group shot even though Deimos pred 2 isn't done yet. Instead my contemptor is hanging out hiding a tech marine behind him. I don't know how visible it is in this shot, but the contemptor has a bit of the Captain Morgan swagger. I will say for all the complaining I've done about resin for the past few months, the contemptor makes it all ok. If you don't own one, I highly recommend it as it is just a modelers dream, you can pose it just about anyway you want, you can do a very stoic straight up, or you can get as dynamic as you want.

Also the captain guy is part of a Texas tale, but he's become the alternate HQ for this detachment.

Good luck folks, this is the home stretch!

A really nice group shot there. Always admire anyone brave enough to paint that much yellow.

I have my last squad of legion tactical marines to paint, been distracted by real life and an upcoming escalation campaign where I will be using legio cybernetica. Also the fact that I have completely changed my list, so parts of it will be used only when I have to play it as 40k.

Looking forward to seeing everyones finished pledges

Great work there. That much yellow deserves a medal on it's own
