Sviar
I'm soon going to start with two long UM series. The HH and the... lets call it the McNeill series I was wondering if I got them in the right order? Iron Warriors was the first exlusive book BL released. luckily I ordered it back then. I'm also eager to read about Roboute Guillimans upbringing and when the Emperor found him, I hope it is in the first HH book: The Battle for the abyss. HH The Battle for the abyss Rules of engagement Know no fear Betrayer Mark of Calth (short stories) Censure The Unremebered Empire Gates of Terra McNeill Chains of command Nightbringer Levithan Enemy of my enemy Warriors of Ultramar Dead sky, black sun The Heraclitus effect Iron Warriors The Chapters due Consequenses Courage and honour Codex Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282818-um-books/ Share on other sites
The Emperor's Champion
Guilliman's upbringing isn't really covered in any of the Horus Heresy books, as far as I know. Your best bet for that is the overview given in Index Astartes:Ultramarines (part of Index Astartes III). The Horus Heresy Ultramarines novels aren't exactly a series in themselves. You'll be jumping around to random snapshots of the Horus Heresy story. The Uriel Ventris series (Ventris is a terrible example of an Ultramarine, and his place in the canon is tenuous): Black Bone Road Chains Of Command Nightbringer Leviathan Warriors Of Ultramar Consequences Dead Sky Black Sun The Killing Ground Courage And Honour The Chapter's Due Eye Of Vengeance (dunno about the rest) The REAL Ultramarines series: Assault On Black Reach Fall Of Damnos Veil Of Darkness Spear Of Macragge Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282818-um-books/#findComment-3514269 Share on other sites
Sviar
The REAL Ultramarines series: Assault On Black Reach Fall Of Damnos Veil Of Darkness Spear Of Macragge Thank you for the suggestions. I found a used copy of the AoBR novel on Amazon and ordered it, I also went ahead and ordered Veil of Darkness. I noticed that BL released both Fall of Damnos and Spear of Macragge in one book plus some artwork to go along with it. here is a quote and a link: This premium, 446 page hardback contains the classic novel Fall of Damnos, the brand new novella 'Spear of Macragge' and eight colour pages of illustrations, maps and force organisation charts. This book will be released on Friday the 6th of September. http://www.blacklibrary.com/warhammer-40000/damnos.html I read about Roboute Guilliman in the Index Astertes. It's sad that he didn't get an in-depth desciption about the early years and his first meeting with the Emperor. I really hope that BL corrects that mistake. Although I can imagine what it must have been like, because the desription in Delivirence Lost when Corax meets his father for the first time is rather detailed.
