dothac83
I've been reading over the SW Codex and it says that Rune Priests can only take Psyker Powers that are listed under the codex. I've been seeing Army lists that have their Rune Priests taking powers that are not from the SW list but from the 40k rulebook. Is there another rule that allows that because the SW Codex seems to say you can't? BrotherCaptainArkhan
Check the Space Wolves FAQ on the Games Workshop site. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282828-rune-preist-confusion/#findComment-3512983 Share on other sites
Squark
To be a tad more elaborate, as per the FAQ, a Rune Priest can choose to generate two powers from the main rulebook (It's an all or none thing- No twin-linked Living Lightning. You have 2 powers from the codex, and then you may choose to turn both of them into Rulebook powers just before deplyoment) from the Divination, Biomanacy, or Telekinesis disciplines. They're still Mastery Level 1 unless you upgrade to Master of Runes (or took Njal), in which case they're mastery level 2. EDIT: And yes, just to forestall any confusion, if Njal trades his codex powers for rulebook powers, he still only gets two. Valerian
The SW 5e codex does precede the 6e rules by several years, so of course this wouldn't be mentioned in the codex itself.
