I have to agree, Huron would have to be a idiot (which he obviously is not) to start a war with abby/the BL . Huron probably controls 1/5 - 1/10 the forces abby does , not to mention all the packs  and favors abby has with the gods and  greater daemons . Huron controls a very large raiding/pirate force , abby controls a LEGION plus many other powerful lords , DP's etc that need on abby's  power and influence in their own plots and schemes. No way Huron starts trouble w Abby, he knows it would be the end of his army and most likely him as well.

- his mission was not a success, he failed to release the daemon;
- he was captured by the Dark Angels and executed on spot;
- he failed to secure the Anathame;
- his warband of Plague Marines is doomed to a rearguard action;
- as a former Consecrator he teases the DA but fails to impress;

Now to add the insult to injury:

- Aby captures the mighty psyker (Grey Knight) but he is forced to flee;
- the chaos space marines are little more than the ones in the movie Ultramarines, cannon fodder at the best;
- Huron betrays the BL fleet commander and thus costs the BL a major ship;
- all the heavy lifting is done by the daemons, little to no traitor astartes action;
- the Helldrake is about to be hunted down by an imperial navy fighter squadron;
- the chaos fighter squadrons act exactly as the Tie-Fighter pilots in SW, no tactics, simple fodder for the imperials to play heroes;
- many sorcerer assets are easily killed off by the Grey Knights and the Dark Angels;
- a lone Catachan regiment holds the might of the Black Legion for almost an entire year;
- Plague Marines are easily killed by a dagger in their throats...
- Khorne Berzerkers act as suicide troops;
- Aby does almost nothing bar looking good in his plate;
- it seems that the only fodder for chaos are daemons and cultists, no professional troops, no seasoned traitor guard... nothing;
- the Lords of Skulls are easy fodder for the imperial superheavies;
- Chaos is unable to score even one kill worth of notice,...

And much much more disappointments for team Chaos...

In short, team Chaos in this novel is a bad joke...

Yep, "legion of the Damned" same way. Only thing the huge Khorne army managed to kill was each other. Every s/m could kill at least a dozen brzrkrs. The LotD could kill brzrkrs by the score. The brzrkrs seemed more interested in killing their slaves, cultists, and even juggernauts then anything imperial.
