Yria
This Dark Talon is a commission we had. I dont like the grey highlights in black (the final result looks too greyish) so i added a little color... What do you think? http://i991.photobucket.com/albums/af34/insomniapaintingstudio/40K%20armies/ravenwingdarktalonall_zps61356957.jpg
Yria
Ezekkiel is a commission for a good client.. Unfortunately the base theme could not change as it needed to suit with his old minis.. :/ http://i991.photobucket.com/albums/af34/insomniapaintingstudio/40K%20armies/ezekielall_zps693482f8.jpg
Olis
There's good highlights and the eye is done well. The thing that I did pick up on though (as I do with everyone) is that the word squiggles on the purity seals are missing.
Grotsmasha
Both of those are fantastic, I particularly like the Dark Talon, and would love some closer pics of some of the detailed parts. Cheers, Jono
Yria
Grotsmasha, unfortunately i dont have the miniature anymore-it was a commissiom- but i ll try to make some closer pics with the pics i already have. Oli, you got me!!! (the client wanted the seals blank ) Today i m posting Ravenwing Darkshroud/Landspeeder Vengeance. All the parts are magnetized, so one can change between 2 options easily. http://i991.photobucket.com/albums/af34/insomniapaintingstudio/40K%20armies/ravenwingdarkshroud_zps11f25864.jpg http://i991.photobucket.com/albums/af34/insomniapaintingstudio/40K%20armies/LandSpeederVengeance_zpsa348e74a.jpg Hope you like it! Olis
Although I think the model itself is atrocious, I like the paintjob. There's some subtle blending that really makes the black interesting.
Prot
Love the Shroud. The model has grown on me over time and I love what you did with it.
Yria
ty guys for your kind comments!! Our latest work is for space marine army, Stalker/Hunter. It's a mini that i painted for ebay and its "running" this week. I painted heavy weathering as most of the commissions i have want really "clean" result, my ork "nature" was screaming for some real rust!!! ..and thus the final result.. What do you think? http://i991.photobucket.com/albums/af34/insomniapaintingstudio/40K%20armies/stalkerall4_zps1905826c.jpg http://i991.photobucket.com/albums/af34/insomniapaintingstudio/40K%20armies/all4hunter_zpsb68b35c2.jpg
The_Chaplain
I think it looks great! I get so tired if looking at clean, unblemished tanks. I want to see chipping, rust, scorched barrels and battle damage. These things need to spend more time on the battlefield and less time on the parade grounds! So bravo on a job well done! Yria
Thank you, chaplain!! I also don't like clean unharmed vehicles or armors, for the same reasons you mentioned, but that's just my taste :)
Yria
Hi again :) Today I m posting a Space Wolves Thunderwolf Cavalry commission we painted. Prefect Apollyon
Very nice, can't pick out much detail from the pics though.
Yria
Hmm... well I don't want to "spam" the thread with a lot of photos from the same miniature, so I try to show the whole mini in one pic.You can always visit our blog http://insomniapaintingstudio.blogspot.gr/ to see from a "closer look" any miniature we painted. I try to take some close up photos from everything that we paint. :)
Yria
A commission for a client.. Some Space wolves Drop Pods :) The quality i was asked to paint them is tabletop, but i tried to make it a little bit "interesting".. :) http://i991.photobucket.com/albums/af34/insomniapaintingstudio/40K%20armies/drpods1_zps49378bce.jpg http://i991.photobucket.com/albums/af34/insomniapaintingstudio/40K%20armies/drpods2_zps2dcfde0e.jpg Cheers!! Kuchinawa
That rust...how did you do it. I get close often but that just looks so perfect! Just that perfect shade or orange and brown! I hope one day to be even half as good with my painting.
Yria
ty for your kind words, but it's not that difficult. I take a bristle and i dab it to my paint, then i dab it to a piece of paper so that most of my color will remain there and then to my mini (like the drybrush method, but with a bristle :) ).. The colors i usually use are -Charred Brown (from Vallejo game color) then Bestial brown (i think it's called skrag brown now) from citadel and the snakebite leather (sorry i don't know it's new name) from citadel again.. and last my orange -carefull to put only a littlebit- blazing orange.. Sometimes i find it a bit too bright so i mix it with a little bestial brown. Hope that helps!!! Good luck if you try it, and feel free to ask me anything you want :)
Yria
This is a speed paint (2 hours) commission we painted for a client. The client wanted our lowest quality (tabletop) in a minimum of time. We knew the result wouldn't be satisfactorily, so we emphasized to miniature's cloth, relic and gun most of the 2 hours and the rest is painted really simple.. http://i991.photobucket.com/albums/af34/insomniapaintingstudio/40K%20armies/missionarywithplasmagun_zpsa96404cf.jpg Cheers!!! Oh and great job on the last guy's base. I love the little dirt on the bottom of the robe! Is there a reason the core in the Plasma is Blue but it looks the heat is in green? Oh one more thing if you're up for it. How do you do realistic red hair? Mine always comes out way to...orange-y and fake. Any tips?
