Deathwatch/Grey knight
Ok I'm behind on a few books cause I'm poor ATM latest one I have is angel exterminatas and I can't resist spoilers so here are some questions and dot points So we hear from eldrad again? ( cause I was wandering if we would cause after fulgrim he just vanishes) Does guilliman look up to the lion? ( which from my pov doesn't make any sense to me he is one of the youngest primarchs and has only been in the great crusade between 50-60 years How many times has Vulcan died? Have we heard from arik taranis yet? And I know loken survived and I said survived he didn't die he Survived anyway are there there any other survivors And ony Why do I keep hear torgaddon is possessed Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283028-knowledge-if-power-so-hand-it-over-pls/ Share on other sites
Grotsmasha
1- Yep, Unremembered Empire 2- Yep, technically The Lion is the first son, his victoriess second only to Horus.... 3- Countless, 10-15 described in Vulkan Lives 4,5,6- Don't remember Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283028-knowledge-if-power-so-hand-it-over-pls/#findComment-3516918 Share on other sites
Olis
And I know loken survived and I said survived he didn't die he Survived anyway are there there any other survivors From Isstvan III? Yes. As detailed in the FW book Betrayal there was a small number of survivors under the command of a Death Guard loyalist known as Crysos Morturg (my favourite character in that book, as it happens). He and his men become what is likely to be the first instance of black shields in the Imperium. Wade Garrett
What's the source on the DA being second to the Luna Wolves in victories won? I am almost certain I have read something that gave the Ultramarines that spot. Deathwatch/Grey knight
It doesn't make sense if the lion second to horus in victories like I said before he only was in the great crusade for the the last 50 years 10 year before lorgar gets chastised for moving to slow ........ Unless all the legions were slacking of Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283028-knowledge-if-power-so-hand-it-over-pls/#findComment-3516959 Share on other sites
Bryan Blaire
There are quotes from several places stating number of victories attributed, etc, and who was "second only to Horus" changes with each one it seems. There is one of these that states this for the Lion. In the end, are we even really sure no one actually surpassed Horus? It's all tangled and twisted up. Actually, given the "propagandist stance" of a lot of 40K quotes, it's actually surprising that anyone would acknowledge less victories than Horus. Grotsmasha
Not total world's complied, that's definitely Guilliman, just victories in battle. There's an old piece of fluff about Russ being chafed that only The Lion and Horus had more GC victories than he did. Remember, The Lion is lauded as a tactical genius amongst the Primarchs, being late to the game as the First would've left him with a lot to prove. Conn Eremon
Considering the current order of discovery of the Lion has him as the eleventh found, three ahead of Lorgar himself, who is around for decades before Monarchia burns, the bit where the Lion is found late in the Crusade is no longer accurate. Thank God. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283028-knowledge-if-power-so-hand-it-over-pls/#findComment-3517343 Share on other sites
Deathwatch/Grey knight
So descent angels and fallen angels don't count cause that's how I confirmed lion was found by the emperor between 50- 60 years before the heresy So descent angels and fallen angels don't count cause that's how I confirmed lion was found by the emperor between 50- 60 years before the heresy Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283028-knowledge-if-power-so-hand-it-over-pls/#findComment-3517540 Share on other sites
Grotsmasha
Laurie Goulding posted a definite "find" order for the Primarchs, it may be that this list was finalised after those books were published. As the books are reprinted in hardback, trade paperback and digitally all of the timeline discrepancies will be edited out and corrected. Personally, perhaps the victories is meant to infer the DA's as a Legion rather than The Lion personally. facmanpob
The Lion was found over 100 years before the Heresy. The dates in Fallen Angels were written before the timeline was set in stone, and will be amended in the Collectors edition of Fallen Angels. So sayeth Laurie Goulding in TFE forums Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283028-knowledge-if-power-so-hand-it-over-pls/#findComment-3517621 Share on other sites
