Help fine tuning a list

Brother I understand your love of PAWG

As much as I love Wolf Guard in power armour they are just not as efficient as their Grey Hunter brothers. Yes you can rack of alot of Combi-Weapons but that is a alot of point for a 1 hit wonder with only a 3+ Save. I tend to find if I am going to be running WG they will be my deathstar and kitted out with TDA. I run them as a deep field wreck face unit usually with Arjac heading up the assault and popping tanks with Mjolnir Mk.2.

I also think the 3rd Rune Priest would be a good idea, Blood Angels really do have access to some fearsome powers, Blood Lance for starters is evil!!

Dropped one TWC added a Storm shield to the other Thunder Wolf. Dropped all PAWG except for one. He will be leading GH Pack 1.

WG unit is now:

Assault Cannon/ChainFist

Wolf Claw/Wolf Claw

Combi-Plasma/PowerFist

Storm Bolter/Power Axe

Thunder Hammer/StormShield

The Thunder Hammer/Storm Shield guy will be leading Pack 2 that is now 8 strength in numbers.

Packs 3 and 4 are now 10 man squads.

I now have 2 Rune Priests in the list, I'm going to go ahead and throw TDA on him for extra protection. My buddy does not like the sound of runic weapons so he's going to want to take them out ASAP. He technically has 4 librarians, but two of those are dreadnoughts and between my Missiles and Lascannons will be brought down very easily. If he makes the mistake of keeping one in the backfield he'll find out how nerfed Dreadnoughts are now will hullpoints and they wont be around very long. I'm thinking I may need another storm shield in the WG unit. We'll see.

I Definatly understand the not having all the drop pods thing, it was simply a suggestion. If you plan on soloing you wolf lord I would invest 80-120 points into some fenrisian wolves. This is a cheap reasonably brutal unit that can get your wolf lord into combat and provide the bubble wrap you are looking for at the price of 1 thunder wolf calvary hit with storm shield. Just a thought if you go that route

I put the below list together as a thought for you to consider. The wolf lord would join the 10 Fen wolves. The Lone Wolf would stay back for a turn or two to protect the long fangs from any surprises, then move forward for his death march. Rune Priest in the Rhino would protect close or home objectives while casting out of the rhino hatch and the rest pretty much speaks for itself.

warlord:

Wolf Lord Runic Armor, Thunder Hammer, Storm Shield, Wolf Tail Talisman and Wolftooth Necklace. Saga of the Bear, Thunder Wolf Mount, and 1 Fen Wolf.

Edit, forgot to take out the Extra WL

Question.

Say I keep a list closer to what I have. Maybe Add some of the Fenrisian Wolves in there.

If I Drop Pod the Rune Priests. Could I then move them so they are leading the two Grey Hunter Packs? Based on the rules that's what independent Characters do when they get close enough to one unit is get attached to that unit right?

I really really wish Lone Wolves could be drop pod'd

I am also thinking about doing a Heavy Bolter/Lascannon Combo for LF 2.

Well my buddy isn't going to purchase what he needs for his Tau allied detachment before the game, so he his doing Blood Angels allied with White Scar SM.

Here's the list

Blood Angels Detachment

2x Librarian
Jump Pack

2x Command Squad
4x Plasma
Jump Packs

2x 10 man Assault Squad
2x Plasma

5x man Vanguard squad
x5 Lightning Claws

White Scars Detachment

SM Captain
Bike

2x Lightning Claws

Command Squad
4x bikes
4x Plasma Gun

4x Lightning Claws

5 man bike squad
2x Plasma

So, this list is definitely more mobile. It definitely doesn't appear as bothersome as the last list did. I was planning on playing fairly aggressive on the first list. For this list I definitely think I'm going to be a little more defensive and let my SW's do what they do best. Counter Attacks and shooty. I think I may redue my TDAWG drop pod units because I don't even think I need all the CC support I thought I was going to need.

For my Long Fangs I definitely feel like the Heavy Bolter/Lascannon combo is going to benefit me a lot against this list. Especially if he tries to deep strike on my Long Fangs with his Vanguard vets.

My updated list, since it hasn't been posted yet

I am considering taking or changing the WG for a Lone Wolf and or/for the purpose of opening up points elsewhere. It would be nice to add the other TWC rider back in the list, and maybe have some room for some Fenrisian wolves.
