Phalanx Warder
So i am looking to pick up one of the 2 Forgeworld Model masterclass books but I wanted to get input here before I go ahead and buy one. Is #2 a continuation of #1? Which is better? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283064-forge-world-model-masterclass-questions/ Share on other sites
Brother Morgan
Masterclass book 1 has far more step by step photos than book 2. To a certain degree, book 2 is a continuation of book 1. The projects/figures/vehicles in book 2 look beautiful BUT book 1 covers far more processes. Lots of the processes can be found on YouTube for free but I like to have book 1 open when I'm attempting to weather my vehicles. So in my opinion, book 1 would be a better purchase than book 2. Regards, Brother Morgan. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283064-forge-world-model-masterclass-questions/#findComment-3517741 Share on other sites
DarkMark
Seriously consider F.A.Q 2 by Mig Jimenez. Have a look at this review. Consider the weathering magazine too for 6€ online! MedPig
I have both. Book one is better processes, book 2 is one of those "Gee, Look at how cool THIS looks..." Books. Both HAVE good ideas. Both ARE worth owning. If you only have money for ONE of them, get number one. Olis
Seriously consider F.A.Q 2 by Mig Jimenez. Have a look at this review. Consider the weathering magazine too for 6€ online! Very interesting pieces there. I might look into acquiring myself FAQ 2 for Christmas. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283064-forge-world-model-masterclass-questions/#findComment-3517906 Share on other sites

DarkMark
Just thought I'd add a couple of things; 1. Mr. Jimenez has been fired from Ak Interactive : so I'd grab a hard copy of any material asap just in case 2. The weathering mags have a girl photographed a bit racey, nothing rude!, that may be worth pointing out to some. Brother-Chaplain Kage
I picked up "Tank Art" by Michael Rinaldi a few months ago, and having seen the first FW book, I can promise you that something like this or FAQ 2 by Mig Jimenez will give you a lot more practical information about weathering than the overpriced Masterclass book.
