Crux Terminatus...

Kol is right about using the honor. Nothing stops someone from utilizing it as a personal mark, or a pre-cursor to the later icon.

If I was playing 30k, then that's my own view point. It would be just a matter of ignoring the whole "minute sliver of the Emperor's armour within the honour marking"

Didn't they say it had a microscopic fragment of the Emperor's armor in it?  You can't take fragments of his armor if he's not yet sitting on the Golden Throne

Its actually fragments of the armor of the guy who watches the camera placed on the other guys armor who dusts the Emperor's armor.

It has some significance you see.

That is true, but that does not have to be everything about it. The Honors could have been present prior to the Codex codifying it across the reformed Legions into Chapters, and the shards of the Emperor's armor could be a later addition to a pre-existing honor.

Aesthetically the Crux Terminatus is nothing more than a fancy skull and crossbones. I see no reason it couldn't appear on armour during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy. It won't hold the same significance as the post-heresy usage but that doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't exist at all in the earlier time period.

You know, he is never once described in regular clothing. It's always golden armor this, blinding armor that.

What are they trying to say?

In the grimdarkness of the far future, the Emperor has no clothes?

Not to mention, the armor is always a byproduct of his will, so technically, its just a big psychic shield he wraps around his body. That's it!

He's a naked Nudist.
