Can TWC take a Caestus Assault Ram?

There is no mention of transport size, there is with the normal wolves, they take up 2, So i dont think they can or the rules of the ram must say otherwise

Rules of the ram say they can only take power armour, artificer armour or terminator armour, so by the rules a lord in Runic armour cant even use it

I'm pretty sure there are rules somewhere that state that Cavalry of any kind can't ride in Transports.

Actually the transport rules don't disallow anything from riding. It's just that only infantry are ever given permission to ride in a transport unless the transport itself allows something else in, like the storm raven. So no TWC can not ride in an assault Ram, you can cram ten terminators in there though.

Heres something to cheer me up!! from all the repetitiveness i been having!! got to play against a fairly tough tau enemy other day. So i thought let me change up my list a bit. So i took 4 rune priests each with jaws but different war gear and Armour ect..ect.. put 3 in a pod and 1 on the table. first turn 3 pods come down and jaw spam! its always good to see a tau players face just drop..... 2 riptides like 7 drones, 2 of those larger suits!! turn 1 gone :D.

merry xmas? :D

If I remember right, Juggernaughts can go in transports, cant remember if they can go in rhinos, but pretty sure they can go in landraiders. That might just be for the lord on one, not sure, I just know our one chaos marine player, sometimes puts his lord on jugger in one.

well the TWC can still be shot through the unit of fenrisian wolves biggrin.png

ah really?

how come, was under the impression that you could give your own guys cover saves by screenign them with other troops.

Just cos of the size of the TW??

(ie could i screen grey hunters with wolves...could i bubble wrap rhinos - as long as 25% is covered??) or am i getting confused between 5th and 6th (friday woes haha)

All the Fenrisian Wolves would do is provide a 5++ Cover Save, which is better than nothing, but not a great way to significantly improve the survivability of your Thunderwolf Cavalry. For one, it doesn't help against massed fire at all (as they'd use their organic 3+ Armour Save instead of the cover save), and for two, it'd still let 2/3 of all low AP wounds through.

ah coool,

aye i was using the wolves to protect against the masses of plasma and krak missiles my housemate tends to bring...i always throw a storm shield guy into my TWC, but i always seem to be really unlucky with his saves, so the FW were there to provide a 5+ once he's down. Not hugely effective i agree, but we ere playing at 2500 points and i didnt have much else to throw in :)

I had a similar story but with 2 rune priests, my mate was getting way to cocky with his tau tabling people turn 2/3 as he turtles in the corner...... long story short he now spreads out his tau and takes interceptor whenever he faces me
