Jostal
Can an HQ in terminator Armor get in a drop pod? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283203-can-an-hq-in-terminator-armor-get-in-a-drop-pod/ Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Yes, because unlike rhinos theres no rule to stop him. He will however take up an extra 'spot' on the bus, because of the 'bulky' special rule thats attached to all terminator armor. You can read up on that in the BRB ifn ye like. Surrender_Monkey
In general units may only deploy in dedicated transports that were purchased for them, or transport vehicles that were purchased separately, they may not deploy in dedicated transports that were purchased for another unit, so if a unit does not have a drop pod listed as dedicated transport, they may not deploy in one. The exceptions to this rule are independent characters, who may join a unit with a dedicated transport and ride in it if there is room. You asked whether HQs in terminator armour can ride drop pods, most HQs are independent characters, and so can join a squad with a drop pod and ride in it if there is room. But in the interests of completeness I will point out that not all HQs are independent characters, a Deathwing Command Squad for example may never use a drop pod, since it is not listed as a dedicated transport option. Grey Mage
He has a point, a few rare HQ characters arent independent characters *ICs* either, such as the blood angel character Mephiston. Magpie
A Deathwing Command Squad isn't an HQ? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283203-can-an-hq-in-terminator-armor-get-in-a-drop-pod/#findComment-3520128 Share on other sites
Fibonacci
Magpie, I believe what Monkey is saying is that they are an HQ that cannot buy a drop pod for their own dedicated transport and may not join a unit that can. As such they are an example of an HQ in terminator armor that cannot deploy in a drop pod. Magpie
The fly in the ointment being that they aren't an HQ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283203-can-an-hq-in-terminator-armor-get-in-a-drop-pod/#findComment-3520140 Share on other sites
Surrender_Monkey
They're an HQ, they don't take up a force org slot. Might seem like a moot point, but it's a catch-all in case they have something weird and wonderful that specifically does or does not affect HQ choices. Magpie
They aren't an HQ in any way shape or form, just a unit that can be taken as an adjunct to an actual HQ. They have none of the functions of an HQ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283203-can-an-hq-in-terminator-armor-get-in-a-drop-pod/#findComment-3520196 Share on other sites

Gentlemanloser
Aren't all the 'unlocks' written like that? Techmarines, Command Squads, Servitors, Henchmen, etc. In the sections list, but don't take a FoC slot, and therefore don't count as something from that slot. Edit: Are to Aren't. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283203-can-an-hq-in-terminator-armor-get-in-a-drop-pod/#findComment-3520318 Share on other sites
