Scouting devestator centurions

Basically this boils down to this question. Can very bulky models use the scout rule?

Playing white scars with khan on moondraken, biker captain, and grav cents. Attach biker captain to dev unit to confer scout. Outflanking centurions.

Am I good to go?

Ravenguard rules exclude Bulky and Very Bulky models from having scout and first turn stealth, however the wording for both Scout and Stealth USRs is "A unit containing at least one model..." so all you need to do is deploy your Centurions with an independent character in power armour and they will get both.

No.  Read the rules on deployment.  In order for an IC or unit to deploy as scouts, they have to have the rule.  Deployment means you have to be able to deploy together.

You can only attach an IC to a unit by deploying them within 2" of each other, unless you put the IC in a transport with a unit.

The Raven Guard rules also specifically say that units that include models with the Bulky or Very Bulky special rules do not benefit from either rule. So if any member of the unit is bulky then none of the unit benefits from Scout or 1st turn Stealth.

With Khan, the unit/model must either be on a bike or have a dedicated transport. Which in the case of Centurions would mean putting them in a Land Raider (which they can take as a DT IIRC).

The Character on Bike idea is good to go so long as the scout rule is worded "so long as a unit contains at least 1 model with..."

As has been said - with the Raven Guard rules, any unit containing bulky or very bulky models cannot benefit from that particular part of their Chapter Tactics.

Yup.  Both flavours of Centurion can take a LR as a DT, and if you have Khan, they can Scout (well they need to be embarked, as the DT gains the ability to Scout.  You could always Scout the LR empty...)

Raeven, are you confusing the scout and infiltrate rules? I see no reason you can't deploy a character with the scout rule with another unit and have them all make a scout redeployment.

Sorry, yes. I was thinking infiltration.

So yes, you can make a turn 2 outflank maneuver with just an IC with scout and whatever unit he is attached too.

Er, no. Vehicles do not have Chapter Tactics. Only the models in the unit that are CT(White Scars) get the scout rule.

Yup.

Master of the Hunt: If Khan is your Warlord, friendly models with the Chapter Tactics (White Scars) special rule that are Bikes or have Dedicated Transports have the Scout special rule.

So as said above, with Khan both type of Centurion (both have Chapter Tactics as a rule and can take LRs as DTs) can Scout in their LRs.
