Minx
We have a large army commission of BT, in the simple GW style! The miniatures came to us primed and assembled, please keep all discussion on the paint work We are going for a dark, more night time like feel, so cooler colours/blues, desaturated reds and so on So this is where we are after a quick days work... http://i876.photobucket.com/albums/ab323/minxpainting/IMG_1483_zps76a6f0b6.jpg http://i876.photobucket.com/albums/ab323/minxpainting/IMG_1478_zpsdeb71154.jpg http://i876.photobucket.com/albums/ab323/minxpainting/IMG_1484_zps846b3b5c.jpg http://i876.photobucket.com/albums/ab323/minxpainting/IMG_1481_zps1a0ba278.jpg http://i876.photobucket.com/albums/ab323/minxpainting/IMG_1479_zps12a3b9e6.jpg http://i876.photobucket.com/albums/ab323/minxpainting/IMG_1480_zps2f5f3b51.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283329-minx-studio-black-templar-army-its-quite-big/ Share on other sites
The_Chaplain
I have to say, the blue lenses? Really makes the army stand out. I'm still on the fence about it; having been so used to red lenses; but like I said, visually striking! Kuchinawa
Yeah I don't normally see Blue but I use yellow myself so I can't say I stay true to the norm. I really like the jumppack. I really like that look for a reason I can't really describe. Brother-Chaplain Kage
The bayonet on the storm bolter looks odd, especially since the sgt. is holding a power sword in his other hand. Minx
The dark cool desaturated scheme allows the bright saturated blue eyes to stand out even with the light grey and the red. It works well! Red and yellow wouldnt work so well because at night time or in darkness, there is no yellow and red is very darrk! @Brother Chaplain Kage, please refer to the giant text at the top of our original post ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283329-minx-studio-black-templar-army-its-quite-big/#findComment-3523083 Share on other sites
Brother-Chaplain Kage
OK. You're a commission painter and obviously know you do good work since you're getting paid for it. Minx
OK. You're a commission painter and obviously know you do good work since you're getting paid for it. Well, there are many commission painters out there who do very average work, I dont think getting paid really has anything to do with skill level. Regardless, Im not sure what this has to do with anything? Is this really the mentality? Because we paint well people shouldn't comment because its obvious? We respond to all questions and comments, good or bad, suggestions, ideas or whatever, we don't post here for praise, we post to share our work with those who enjoy the same stuff we do (miniatures, power armour in this case) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283329-minx-studio-black-templar-army-its-quite-big/#findComment-3523182 Share on other sites
