Jostal
If an allied detachment has a drop pod, does it count as it's own drop pod assault? Or would it apply to all the drop pods in the army? Cactus
I can't see anything in the rules for reserves, deep strike or drop pods* that makes a distinction between units in different detachments. When the rule says "choose half of your drop pods" I think it means exactly that, half the drop pods in your army. *I'm referring to Codex: Dark Angels but I think all older drop pod rules have been amended now to use the same text. Dam13n
"Drop Pod Assault - Drop Pods must start the game in Deep Strike reserve. At the beginning of your first turn, choose half of your available Drop Pods (rounding up) to make a Drop Pod Assault. Units making a Drop Pod assault arrive from reserve at the start of your first turn. Any remaining Drop Pods will arrive as normal for units in Deep Strike Reserve." (Slightly paraphrased the last sentence). So it's up to half of all of your available Drop Pods regardless of which detachment/codex/imperial armour they may come from that can make a 1st Turn Drop.
